Manchester United carried on with their pre-season preparations by securing a notable 3-1 win against RC Lens, a team from Ligue 1, at Old Trafford. This victory came despite their newly acquired goalkeeper Andre Onana conceding a remarkable goal from the halfway line.

Prior to the start of the match, there was much excitement at Old Trafford as Manchester United showcased their recent £72m signing, Rasmus Hojlund, to the enthusiastic home supporters.

United made an effort to take advantage and have a strong beginning, but Mason Mount squandered a fantastic chance. Bruno Fernandes played a brilliant pass to release Alejandro Garnacho, who then passed the ball to Mount. However, Mount failed to convert the opportunity from eight yards as his shot lacked accuracy.

United fell behind, somewhat against the run of play, in the 23rd minute and the goal came in spectacular fashion.

Sotoca capitalized on United's loose passing near the halfway line. Onana, positioned outside his penalty area, witnessed the Lens forward's attempt on goal, resulting in the ball gracefully sailing over the backpedaling goalkeeper and finding the back of the net.

Despite falling behind, United persistently generated scoring opportunities. However, their frustrations grew as Garnacho's shot was fired over and Antony's strike was deflected above the crossbar before halftime.

Erik ten Haag's roared back after the break. Antony's pass released Marcus Rashford, who with the help of a deflection finished past Bryce Samba to bring the scores level.

Five minutes later, United took the lead. Garnacho made an impressive run down the left and passed to Antony, who expertly found the far corner.

United quickly turned the game around with three goals in just 11 minutes. Rashford's header, which was heading towards the goal, deflected off Casemiro and ended up in the bottom corner. This victory marks another impressive pre-season performance for the home side as they prepare to resume Premier League action next weekend.
