Unresolved Power-Scale Debate: The Controversy Among Dragon Ball Z Fans

Dragon Ball Z enthusiasts continue to engage in passionate debates regarding the power-scaling of Majin Buu's various forms, despite the show concluding in 1996

Despite Dragon Ball Z airing its last episode in 1996, fans are still engaged in debates about the power-scaling of Majin Buu. A recent poll on X (formerly known as Twitter) asked if Buuhan could have successfully defended against the Spirit Bomb. The votes resulted in a 50-50 split, much to the dissatisfaction of some fans.

Given that the Spirit Bomb proved to be highly effective in defeating Kid Buu, many Dragon Ball Z enthusiasts held the belief that Buuhan would also be unable to withstand this formidable attack. This perspective stemmed from the notion that Kid Buu possessed greater strength than Buuhan. Consequently, passionate debates emerged among fans on platform X as they engaged in arguments regarding whether Kid Buu or Buuhan held the title for the stronger Majin Buu.

One Dragon Ball Z fan on X, @DokkanGod7_, claimed that Kid Buu was stronger than both Super Saiyans 3 and 2 Goku (s), who was himself stronger than Buuhan.

However, contrary to this theory, many fans disagreed. They believed that Buuhan was the true embodiment of Majin Buu, as he was formed when Super Buu absorbed Piccolo, Gotenks, and Mystic Gohan, making him the most powerful version of Majin Buu. On the other hand, Kid Buu was considered to be the original and uncontrolled form of Majin Buu, known for his relentless killing spree. Nevertheless, certain statements in the anime and manga appeared to challenge this belief, leading to further confusion among fans.

@DokkanGod7_ provided compelling evidence to support his claims. The anime categorizes Kid Buu as the most powerful Majin Buu. Furthermore, Akira Toriyama, the creator, has a penchant for portraying formidable villains with diminutive physical appearances, as seen in Frieza's ultimate transformation.

However, from the context available in the Dragon Ball Z anime, it seems like Buuhan was the strongest Majin Buu.

Many fans doubted whether @DokkanGod7_ and others had truly watched the Dragon Ball Z anime. If they had, it would be clear that Goku Super Saiyan 3 struggled against Super Buu in both his Buutenks and Buuhan forms. This led Goku to decide to fuse with Gohan and later Vegeta, utilizing the Potara earrings.

Subsequently, after Goku and Vegeta successfully separated Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks from Super Buu, Buu's power significantly diminished. Despite this, Goku remained convinced that Super Buu could still instantly eliminate them both.

Despite facing Kid Buu, Goku and Vegeta willingly took on the challenge individually, without resorting to teaming up or fusion. The battle clearly showed that Kid Buu surpassed even Super Saiyan 3 Goku in strength. However, Goku was still able to face him alone, unlike when Buuhan was present.

In addition to Goku, Vegeta also demonstrated the ability to fight Kid Buu on his own, when Kid Buu was only capable of transforming into a full power Super Saiyan 2. This further highlights that Kid Buu was considerably weaker than Buuhan.

Kid Buu appeared stronger than Buuhan solely because he possessed a greater level of danger. Initially, Majin Buu lacked intellect and operated on instinct alone. Yet, upon absorbing the Grand Supreme Kai and transforming into "Good Buu," he gained mindfulness and intelligence.

Consequently, the removal of "Good Buu" from Super Buu resulted in a loss of mental capacity and strength, since the powers acquired from the Grand Supreme Kai were absent. This evidence establishes that Buuhan surpassed Kid Buu in terms of strength.
