In Final Fantasy 16, the series' familiar Cure spell is noticeably absent, making way for significant changes to the gameplay. Players must now rely on Torgal's occasionally unreliable restorative abilities or frequently resort to using Potions and High Potions as consumables.
Regrettably, Clive faces a strict limitation on the number of these items he can carry, especially early in the game. However, completing the "Weird Science" side quest grants players the opportunity to enhance their carry capacity. Additionally, another side quest called "Even Weirder Science" offers a chance for further expansion.
How to Complete Even Weirder Science in Final Fantasy 16
The "Even Weirder Science" side quest becomes accessible during the commencement of the "Across the Narrow" main story mission, provided that players have previously completed the "Weird Science" quest in Final Fantasy 16. Assuming completion of the prerequisite quest, players can embark on the "Even Weirder Science" quest by initiating a conversation with Owain, the engineer, who can be located in Mid's workshop at the Hideaway.
Owain has a special request for Clive - he needs three Spherical Echoes for his latest forge project. Luckily, these small white orbs are quite easy to locate. One can be found at the Fallen ruins in Lostplume, another in Advent, and the last one awaits in Silent Slough. However, acquiring these treasures won't be a walk in the park, as Clive will have to fend off numerous Fallen Guardians and Bugs. Nevertheless, since all of these enemies are below level 40, Clive shouldn't encounter too much difficulty in defeating them.
After collecting the three Spherical Echoes, players should return to Owain at the hideaway and hand over the Fallen tech. Soon after, Owain will finish his forge and offer to adjust the clasp on Clive's satchel, marking the end of the quest. In return, players will receive a Goblin Coin, 4,800 XP, and 50 Renown, along with the Expanded Potion Satchel Curiosity. This curiosity allows Clive to carry a maximum of eight Potions, five High Potions, four Strength Tonics, and four Stoneskin Tonics.
If this is the first time the player completes "Even Weirder Science," they will also unlock the "With Two Ds" Trophy.
Final Fantasy 16 is available now exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
