Therefore, a Pokemon Legends game set in the Kanto Region that intertwines and unifies their stories under the guise of one prominent character would be a much-needed addition to the franchise.

Mew Would be the Most Likely Mythical Mascot of a Pokemon Legends Kanto

Arceus is portrayed as the creator god of the Pokemon world in its lore, but according to established lore, most modern creatures can trace their origins back to the mythical Mew. Therefore, it would make sense for Mew to be the central Legendary or Mythical Pokemon in a Pokemon Legends Kanto game. Mew is not only the most famous Mythical Pokemon in the franchise but was also the first to be created and revealed in 1996, shortly after the release of the original Pokemon Red and Green games in Japan. This makes Mew a worthy candidate to succeed Arceus.

Based on reports found in the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island, Mew was initially discovered in Guyana, South America, 20 years before the events of the Generation 1 games. With its ability to learn any move and transform at will, it is speculated that Mew possesses the DNA of all Pokemon and is the ancestor of all modern creatures. This theory provides a solid foundation for the plot of a Pokemon Legends Kanto game, which could depict an encounter with Mew that predates the one documented in the reports from the Pokemon Mansion.

Mew's lore within the Pokemon universe is rather convoluted, as it originated during a time when the Pokemon world and the real world were still intertwined. However, the game can introduce an organization dedicated to studying Mew as a precursor to the scientists involved in the eventual cloning process. This acknowledgement provides Mewtwo with a level of significance within the game. As an added aspect, the Legendary Birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres could parallel the role played by Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
