Highlights
Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series may have different settings, but they share a common theme of mystery that ties them together.
In both games, UFO sightings are a prominent element. Mount Shann in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mount Chiliad in GTA 5 serve as significant locations for these unexplained phenomena.
Furthermore, the presence of the Epsilon Program in GTA 5 and the Geology for Beginners mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 suggests a potential link between the two games. The speculation revolves around concepts like time travel and concealed symbolism, adding to the intrigue surrounding this connection.
Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series set it apart from its competitors. While Red Dead Redemption 2 transports gamers to the fading days of the Wild West, Grand Theft Auto takes a more contemporary approach to crime. Although the settings differ greatly, these games share a common thread of mystery and interconnected plot lines that bridge the 100-year gap between them.
Red Dead Redemption is renowned for its complex puzzles that require players to delve deeper for answers. Even years after its release, fans are still uncovering new explanations for certain events, with some mysteries remaining unsolved. While Grand Theft Auto tends to focus more on action, GTA 5 includes some Easter eggs throughout its gameplay, some of which overlap with those found in Red Dead Redemption 2.
UFOs in Mounts Chiliad and Shann in GTA 5 and RDR 2
Rockstar game enthusiasts are well aware that UFOs and mysterious sightings have always been a recurring theme in the developer's titles. This trend can be traced back to even Grand Theft Auto 4. With this knowledge, one would naturally anticipate the inclusion of such elements in more futuristic games like Cyberpunk 2077. However, the surprise comes when playing Red Dead Redemption, a franchise set in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and encountering UFOs while assuming the role of Arthur Morgan. This unexpected twist shocks most players. In Red Dead Redemption 2, Mount Shann's enigma bears resemblance to that of Mount Chiliad in Grand Theft Auto 5, establishing a connection between the two franchises.
While deciphering the mysteries in GTA 5 may prove slightly more challenging compared to Red Dead Redemption 2, following a series of cryptic messages eventually leads players to the summit of Mount Chiliad, precisely at 3 AM during rainfall. Standing there, they are rewarded with a captivating sight of a UFO in flight. As the highest point within GTA 5's map, Mount Chiliad boasts peculiar markings near its peak, depicting the mountain itself and three symbols: a UFO, an alien egg, and a person donning a jetpack.
There are multiple UFO sightings in Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly at Hani's Bethel and Mount Shann. Hani's Bethel, located in The Heartlands of New Hanover, holds a disturbing scene with multiple corpses and a paper mentioning a Mysterious Sermon about a savior named Kuhkowaba. Following the instructions in the letter to return at the second hour under the half moon leads to the appearance of a UFO that hovers over the cabin briefly with a gentle green light before vanishing.
On Mount Shann's summit, another distant UFO can be spotted, and there are rumors of a third UFO sighting among some players. The purpose and origins of these alien objects in both Rockstar games remain largely unknown, as the developer is skilled at keeping such details hidden. However, gamers eagerly await a comprehensive explanation that connects the game's plot lines to the peculiar presence of UFOs. Additionally, there is a similar mystery involving the Kraffs in both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, fueling speculation about the shared parentage of certain characters in these franchises.
The Epsilon Program Links RDR 2 and GTA 5 Together
Grand Theft Auto's Epsilon Program, a long-standing aspect of the series since San Andreas, revolves around the enigmatic figure known as Kraff. As the Emperor of the fourth Paradigm, Kraff holds an esteemed place within the beliefs of this cult. The reasons behind Kraff's revered status in society remain uncertain, but it is widely believed that those with a birthmark over their right eye are descendants of this deity. While Kraff is said to possess mystical abilities, he never appears physically in the franchise.
GTA 5's Epsilon Tract collectibles contain numerous references to Kraff, with one particularly significant piece indicating that the cult worships him when the Earth attains the ninth Paradigm. Interestingly, this collectible can be found atop Mount Chiliad, the very location where the UFO mystery originates, suggesting a potential connection between the two. In Red Dead Redemption 2, players encounter Francis Sinclair during the Geology for Beginners mission. Francis, who resides in a cabin north of Strawberry, bears a birthmark over his right eye. While this may initially appear coincidental, subsequent events in the mission line hint at peculiar links between Francis and Kraff.
Players will encounter futuristic rock carvings during their mission, reminiscent of the ones found at Mount Chiliad in GTA 5. Carpa Tom, who resembles Francis Sinclair, a member of the Epsilon Program in GTA 5, becomes an intriguing figure in this enigma. In the Geology for Beginners mission in RDR 2, players will meet Francis' mother, who reveals that his father, Tom, has recently passed away. A prevailing belief among the Rockstar fanbase speculates that Tom and Francis are time travelers. With hopes of uncovering more answers, players are eager to discover the truth behind these mysteries in future installments such as GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption 3.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
