Unlocking Richarlison's Goal-Scoring Brilliance: Premier League Star Embraces Psychologist's Guidance

Tottenham's Richarlison, still goalless this Premier League season, faces a tough time after a tearful international break with Brazil Seeking assistance from a psychologist, he aims to regain form and overcome his frustrating goal drought

Tottenham striker Richarlison plans to enlist the assistance of a psychologist to enhance his performance and end his goal drought upon his return from representing Brazil internationally. Despite playing in the Premier League this season, he has yet to find the back of the net, and last season, he only managed one goal in 27 league appearances for Spurs since his £60m transfer from Everton.

Richarlison, who had a goal disallowed by VAR while playing for Brazil against Peru on Tuesday night and scored in the EFL Cup defeat against Fulham in August, has been chosen as Tottenham's No.9 this season following Harry Kane's departure.

The player has mentioned being impacted by off-field problems recently, including reports in Brazil about a conflict with his representative Renato Velasco.

"I'm a happy team player on the pitch, I try to help as much as possible," he told Ge.Globo Brasil.

"Occasionally, circumstances don't align with our desires. I perceive this aspect as an unanticipated setback that hindered my progress. Despite my intentions to execute tasks correctly, they often veer off course. Regardless, I remain steadfast in my dedication to the club. The turmoil has subsided.

During the past five months, I faced tumultuous times outside of football. However, my personal matters have stabilized now. Individuals who merely sought to benefit from my wealth are no longer in my inner circle. Consequently, I anticipate a smooth progression ahead. I am confident in my ability to achieve success at Tottenham and reignite positive outcomes."

"That moment of sadness, when tears streamed down my face after being substituted for Brazil against Bolivia, was not due to my poor performance, in my humble opinion. I believe I showcased decent skills and effort in Belém. The outburst stemmed from a culmination of off-field circumstances that spiraled out of control, not necessarily affecting me directly, but rather impacting those closest to me."

"I plan to return to England and seek professional psychological assistance from a psychologist to address my mindset. The purpose is to come back even stronger. I am confident that I will secure a spot in the next (Brazil squad), and I am fully committed to putting in the necessary effort.

My main focus now is regaining top form at Tottenham. This week, I will have a conversation with them to discuss my plans. It is crucial for me to have a consistent run of games, regain my match rhythm, and arrive here in excellent physical condition."
