The Wrathful Hearts in Diablo 4 Season 1 are the true standouts, offering some of the most potent effects among all Malignant Hearts. However, they are also the rarest, making it crucial for many players to quickly acquire the perfect Wrathful Hearts that complement their builds.
Initially, the drop rates of Wrathful Hearts sparked debate during the Season of the Malignant. Thankfully, the 1.1.1 patch for Diablo 4 addressed this by increasing certain numbers, effectively boosting the chances of obtaining a Wrathful Heart from various sources. Therefore, here are the most effective methods to farm Wrathful Hearts without relying on glitches or exploits.
Diablo 4 Wrathful Heart Farm
Wrathful Hearts can be acquired by defeating Malignant monsters. Players can determine which type of heart an enemy will drop by checking the modifiers list below the monster's health bar. The Elites found in the Malignant Tunnels are always Malignant, making these locations ideal for farming.
Obtaining Wrathful Hearts still requires some luck. Since the types of monsters that will appear in the tunnels are unpredictable, it is recommended to navigate through them quickly to maximize efficiency. While farming is more effective with a group, solo players can also easily clear the tunnels by utilizing the optimal builds for their class.
Make sure to have a Wrathful Invoker before entering the tunnel to avoid missing out on a potential Wrathful Heart drop. Additionally, players may consider challenging Varshan for extra Malignant Hearts and valuable loot. The Ravening Pit, located in the Untamed Scarps subregion of the Dry Steppes, is arguably the fastest and easiest Malignant Tunnel to farm. Ignore the regular mobs and focus on defeating the elite enemies.
Instead of depending on chance spawns and drops, players have the option to visit Cormond and utilize his workbench for directly crafting random Caged Hearts. To carry out this process, players will need Ichor, a material used seasonally for crafting, which can be obtained by defeating monsters or recycling unwanted Malignant Hearts.
Regrettably, crafting Wrathful Hearts is not possible. In such cases, players will have to rely on the Uncertain Heart crafting option and hope to obtain the desired hearts. Another alternative is to create Uncertain Invokers, although there is a chance that only Wrathful Invokers will be produced instead of Wrathful Hearts.
Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
