Bandai Namco has scheduled a closed beta test for Tekken 8, set to release in January 2024. Taking place from October 21 to 24, this beta will be available on all platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. During the test, cross-play will be enabled, allowing players to connect across different platforms. The beta will include a roster of 19 playable characters, including the original 16 from the Closed Network Test in July, as well as Raven, Feng, and the new addition to the series, Azucena.
The beta will include three primary modes: Ranked Match, Quick Match, and Battle Tutorial. Additionally, it will introduce the game's social hub, the Tekken Fight Lounge, which was officially unveiled at Evo 2023 in August.
Accompanying the announcement of the network test was the reveal of series veteran Feng Wei joining the playable roster. Feng Wei, a skilled practitioner of Chinese Kenpo known as the God Fist, has been a consistent presence in every mainline Tekken game since Tekken 5. A new trailer showcased his abilities and highlighted his burgeoning rivalry with Tekken 7's Leroy Smith.
Tekken 8 is set to release on January 26 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. If you're interested in participating in the October closed beta test, sign up on the game's official website. However, if you took part in the Closed Network Test in July, you will automatically gain access.
