Players in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will quickly realize the need to expand Link's inventory space. Those who have played the game's predecessor, Breath of the Wild, will remember the struggles of encountering the 'You can't carry anymore...' message. Link will face the same issue until he meets Hestu, the dancing Korok with the ability to expand his inventory.

Hestu's role in Tears of the Kingdom remains unchanged. After completing the tutorial, Link is set free in the vast open world of Hyrule. As time passes and Link becomes frustrated with his limited space, he will encounter Hestu once again. Hestu, who has lost the seeds to his maracas, can be found in specific locations. This guide will provide the details on finding Hestu and the steps required to increase Link's inventory.

Updated August 28th, 2023: Discovering Hestu in Tears of the Kingdom holds utmost significance for players in the initial stages of the game. Link will not encounter Hestu in Tears of the Kingdom until he has descended to the surface. Once Link has met with Purah, Robbie, and Josha, he will be presented with various options regarding his next destination.

Eventually, Link will be informed by Purah that peculiar incidents have been reported in the four primary regions of Hyrule. Among these areas, Rito Village is proposed as the initial destination. Consequently, it presents an opportune moment to search for Hestu since his first location falls directly along this pathway.

Hestu can be located northwest of Lookout Landing, close to Lindor's Brow. His precise position is southeast of the Skyview Tower in that area, marked by the following coordinates: -1714, 1067, 0202.

Upon approaching Hestu, he will appear frightened, visibly trembling until Link initiates a conversation with him. This interaction sets off the side quest called "Hestu's Concerns," which essentially entails Link granting Hestu a single Korok seed. In return, Hestu graciously offers to enhance one of Link's inventory slots. It should be noted that Hestu can perform upgrades at this location only twice.

How Inventory Upgrades Work:

After Link finishes two upgrades, Hestu cryptically mentions his plans to head east and expresses a desire to be in the company of others. These words mark the end of Hestu's short detour, as he bids farewell and departs.

Hestu provides three options for upgrades: weapons, bows, and shields. Each category of upgrade is independent, so enhancing bows will not impact the cost of upgrading weapons, and vice versa.

The expense of upgrades will rise with every subsequent request, and acquiring the final few inventory slots will require a significant amount of Korok Seeds. Link must explore the vast land of Hyrule to gather enough seeds to complete his inventory upgrade.

Hestu's Second Location

Hestu can next be found in Lookout Landing. This will be the first location where Hestu will allow Link to continuously upgrade his inventory until he's out of Korok seeds.

Hestu's final destination is said to be the Korok Forest. After reaching the forest and locating Hestu, he will remain there until the Tears of the Kingdom quest concludes. However, Hestu will only show up in the Korok Forest once Link has finished dealing with the Deku Tree. Once that task is accomplished, Hestu can be found at the coordinates 0412, 2124, 0143.

How to Find Korok Seeds

In Tears of the Kingdom, discovering Korok Seeds operates similarly to Breath of the Wild. While exploring, Link will encounter numerous situations that suggest the existence of a Korok. Here are a few illustrations:

- An arrangement of stones forming a circle, where one or more stones are visibly absent.

A pillar with a missing section that looks out of place (new 'Ascend' encounters)

A small, brown stump with the image of a leaf.

A Single rock placed in unique places, like the peak of a mountain.

An invisible entity moving around, often near shallow water, surrounded by 'sparkles.'

There are additional ways to acquire Korok Seeds through various encounters. One such encounter in Tears of the Kingdom involves a fatigued Korok struggling with a heavy backpack.

The Korok explains to Link that they are on their way to meet a friend who is signaling for help with smoke in the distance. To assist the Korok, Link must utilize the Ultrahand tool to construct a way to traverse the distance. In return for his efforts, Link receives a generous reward of two Korok Seeds. When dedicating substantial time to seed exploration, Link typically discovers multiple seeds.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
