The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom serves as a true sequel to Breath of the Wild and introduces many fresh mechanics and features. However, some elements, such as the 'Champion' Weapons, remain the same and can be crafted once players complete 'fixing' the Regional Phenomena of each area belonging to the Zora, Rito, Goron, and Gerudo races.
For instance, in Gerudo, players can have the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker Shield crafted for Link once they help to restore Gerudo Town. But, how can Tears of the Kingdom players accomplish this task? And, is the effort and time required to do so worthwhile?
To create these weapons, players must first clear the Sand Shroud that surrounds Gerudo Town and then help to restore the town itself. This process involves completing a series of quests and side missions. However, the effort is rewarded with two powerful weapons that can aid players in their journey.
Players must first complete the Main Story Quest in the Gerudo Desert before proceeding. This involves navigating through the Sand Shroud to reach Gerudo Town and gaining entry into the Gerudo Shelter. After meeting with Riju, the leader of the Gerudo, players must help defend Gerudo Town from invading Gibdos and reveal and resurface the Lightning Temple. Progressing through the Temple with Riju, players must defeat Queen Gibdo at the end and clear the Sand Shroud to receive Riju's Vow to help Link. Once all of this is accomplished, the last step is to save the missing owner of the Jewelry Shop, Isha. Although players can do this before or after finishing the Main Story 'Riju of Gerudo Town' Questline, it is most common for players to stumble upon and save her while exploring the Gerudo Desert after the Sand Shroud has disappeared.

To find Isha, players can either stumble upon her while exploring the Gerudo Desert within the Sand Shroud or save her after defeating Queen Gibdo with the Sand Shroud gone. After Queen Gibdo is defeated, players can accept the Side Quest 'The Missing Owner' from Cara, another Gerudo who works for Isha's Jewelry Shop, to go and find her.
To locate Isha, head westward from Gerudo Town until reaching the Toruma Dunes region. Look for the smoke from Isha's campfire which should be visible as long as players keep an eye out. As soon as they get close enough, the Molduga circling her rock formation in the sand will turn its attention to Link, so be prepared for a tough battle. Once the Molduga is defeated, Isha thanks Link by giving him a Diamond as a reward before returning home to her Jewelry Shop.
After collecting all the drops from the Molduga that was cornering Isha, head back to Gerudo Town and speak to her again outside her shop. She'll mention that she wants to repay Link for saving her life and offers to use her family's knowledge to craft the legendary Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield. However, to do this, Isha requires some rare materials.
To obtain the materials needed for Legendary Weapons, the most expensive option is to gather 4 Diamonds, 10 Flint, a Gerudo Scimitar, and a Gerudo Shield for Isha to craft the 'Arms of the Seven'. While the Duplication Glitch can make this process easier, there are alternative methods for players who prefer not to use exploits. One of these methods involves obtaining Diamonds, which can be done without much hassle.
Diamonds may be rare in Tears of the Kingdom, but there are various methods to obtain them. One way is to explore caves and search for Ore Deposits. The Sensor+ can also be used to locate Regular and Rare Ore Deposits in the Eldin Mountains. Another option is to defeat Stone Taluses in hopes of getting a Diamond drop. Additionally, feeding Luminous Stones to Dondons may result in the production of a Diamond. Completing certain side quests or Shrines may also lead to a Diamond reward or discovery in a chest. Flint is another valuable resource to collect.
.
Flint is a highly abundant mineral in Tears of the Kingdom, along with Amber and Rock Salt. Even after breaking just a few ore deposits, players can easily obtain a sufficient amount of Flint or Rock Salt. Interestingly, while using any of the Diamond-hunting methods mentioned earlier, players are likely to stumble upon enough Flint to craft the Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield, without any additional efforts.
Gerudo Scimitar & Gerudo Shield

Finding the Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield can be a challenge, even more so than obtaining Diamonds. The most reliable way to acquire them is by defeating Electric Like Likes in various ruins throughout the Gerudo Desert, such as the West Gerudo Ruins or the Ancient Prison Ruins. These enemies will drop Chests upon death, which have a chance of containing either a Gerudo Scimitar or Shield.
However, if luck isn't on your side or you simply want a more guaranteed method, there are other ways to obtain these items. For example, a Gerudo Shield can be found in a Chest located in the northwest corner of Gerudo town, diagonally opposite the Sand Seal Rental Shop. Alternatively, the fourth cave in the Ancient Altar Ruins also contains a Chest with a Gerudo Shield.
If your Scimitar or Shield breaks and you need a replacement, don't worry! You can remake them by speaking to Blacksmith Talhah in the Gerudo Desert. Simply provide him with the necessary materials and he'll craft a new one for you.
After retrieving all the necessary supplies, Isha promptly creates the legendary armaments for Link and presents them to him. She notes that although she can easily remake the Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker if they are damaged, it will require the same materials as before - the Scimitar, Shield, 10 Flint, and 4 Diamonds.
Moreover, it seems that Isha is unable to craft multiple copies of the Scimitar and Shield simultaneously. Therefore, if Link loses or damages them, he will need to break them in order to have them replaced.
To repair these armaments, there are 3 images provided below for guidance.
To repair the SotS and Daybreaker without having to search for Materials again, players can use an in-game weapon repair method that has become quite popular. This method involves finding a Rock Octorok in the Eldin Mountains, particularly next to the Momosik Shrine on the northeast side of Death Mountain. Once players have located the Octorok, they simply need to drop the weapon on the ground and walk away so that the Octorok can suck it up. After a brief sparkle, the Octorok will spit the fully repaired weapon back out, ready for use.
However, Rock Octoroks do not have the ability to repair Champion Weapons by default and will simply spit them back out in their original state. But there is a way to repair them. Players can fuse the Scimitar or Daybreaker with any standard shield and drop it on the ground. This will repair both the regular shield and the champion weapon.
After that, players can go to Tarrey Town and speak to Pelison, a small Goron located near the General Shop. Paying him 20 Rupees will separate the shield from the Daybreaker/Scimitar. By following these steps, players can fully repair the incredibly powerful Shield/Scimitar without having to spend time and materials on remaking them entirely.
Are they worth the effort and material cost?

The Scimitar of the Seven is definitely worth the investment due to its Strong Fusion Special Trait, making it one of the strongest Fused Weapons in the game. On the other hand, the Daybreaker Shield, while unique, is not worth the investment as it does not have any special effects and is not significantly stronger than other shields. Crafting only the Scimitar would be the recommended route, but unfortunately, the Daybreaker is included in the package deal.
Even though the Duplication Glitch and Rock Octorok Repair methods may not work in the future, the Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield are still valuable tools to have in Link's arsenal. These weapons can be crucial in defeating tough Silver-variant Enemies such as Lynels or Gloom Hands. Crafting the Scimitar is a wise investment to ensure that Link is always prepared for any battle that comes his way. Don't miss out on the chance to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, available now on the Nintendo Switch.
