Holmes allegedly ended the lives of his victims.

In The Devil In Me, players' choices directly impact the survival of characters, just like in other games of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Moreover, the game provides numerous Achievements and Trophies to unlock, which require certain narrative decisions to be made. One such Achievement is Award Worthy. What Are The Prerequisites?

During their playthrough of The Devil In Me, players come across a specific subtext that says, "Kate must assist Mark at the lighthouse." This particular phrase serves as a hint to the future events within the game, especially when players eventually find themselves in the lighthouse while assuming the role of Kate. Not only that, but a situation arises at the lighthouse where players are presented with a choice of whether or not to help Mark. It is necessary to assist Mark in order to obtain this achievement/trophy.

In order to obtain the Award Worthy Trophy in The Devil In Me, players must first ensure that they meet several prerequisites before reaching the lighthouse. It is crucial to address these main requirements beforehand.

Mark and Kate are the only survivors required for the Award Worthy achievement. Interactions with other protagonists in the lighthouse will prevent players from obtaining the achievement.

Fortunately, Erin has the highest number of possible deaths in the game. She can perish early on by attempting to attack the killer (Blackout), running towards the door when confronted by the animatronics, or intentionally being deprived of air (Silver Ash). Furthermore, she can be captured by Du'met in the maze or if Kate chooses to climb instead of barricading the area (Maze).

Charlie has one of the earlier death options in the game, alongside Erin. He can meet his demise by attempting to open a door in a burning room (Incinerated) or by having his body disposed of (Waste Disposal). If he fails to hide in the warehouse, his body will be strung up on a meat hook (Hotel Grounds) or he may fall onto a beam (Cliffside).

Jamie, on the other hand, is susceptible to death if she fails Quick Time Events (QTEs). This can occur during her chase with Du’Met in the nerve center or if she intentionally sacrifices herself in the glass room (Observation Room). If Jamie doesn't ask for help against Du’Met on the rooftop, her life will be lost (Rooftop), as well as if no action is taken against Connie causing a disturbance in the house (Forest Path, Homestead).

What Happens If Players Succeed?

Kate opts to assist Mark: As the door to the lighthouse swings open, Kate's gaze falls upon the inert figure of Mark sprawled on the floor, his back turned towards her. Without a second thought, she rushes to his aid, prioritizing his well-being over the eerie sounds that beckon further investigation.

Upon sighting Mark in the lighthouse, Kate's first instinct prompts her to promptly approach him, eager to offer assistance and assess his well-being. The exhilarating aspect of this encounter in The Devil In Me lies in the fact that Kate only recognizes Mark based on his distinct checkered jacket. To keen-eyed players, it becomes evident that the Mark they come across is attired in formal trousers, while the real Mark dons jeans.

When Kate rotates the body towards her, she is taken aback by the sight of Du’Met's face. The impressive accomplishments of his "play dead" act suggest that it was so outstanding that it successfully deceived Kate. Interestingly enough, the real Mark is already restrained behind the door. This provides Du’Met with the opportunity to render Kate unconscious. With both of the remaining victims held captive, the interactive drama takes a different turn, leading to the Ultimatum ending.
