The purpose of these new garments is to shield him as he crosses the formidable 72-layer barrier between the palace and Seireitei. With no other choice but to venture back on foot, Ichigo anticipates a journey of at least a week if he utilizes Shunpo, a high-speed movement technique. Though he had hoped to arrive before the invasion began, he learns that it commenced three hours earlier. Determined to expedite his return, Ichigo disregards the conveniently laid out stairs, opting instead to bravely plummet towards Seireitei.

He calls Urahara while descending, apologizing for his audacity in requesting the ground forces to hold their positions until his arrival, even in dire circumstances. It becomes evident that the two figures are intertwined to some extent, and after reclaiming the bestowed powers, Yhwach must take time to recuperate. Haschwalth escorts Uryu to Silbern's execution spire, where Sternritter I – The Iron, Cang Du, and Sternritter K, BG9 await their doom. An intriguing display of Haschwalth's abilities unfolds when he first attempts to sever Cang Du's head. He enlightens his victim about the reversal of fortune, signifying that the abundant luck which once preserved his life will now transform into an equally immense misfortune. To visually convey this turn of events, the imagery of a Libra scale tips against Cang Du's favor, symbolizing the forthcoming misfortune.
Uryū winces at the demise of his comrades, questioning the necessity of discarding such potent assets like themselves. Haschwalth responds to this pondering by enlightening Uryū about Yhwach's genuine objective, which surpasses the Seireitei. As the arbiter of what is deemed necessary, Yhwach dictates the fate of his soldiers. Haschwalth explicates that when a Sternritter perishes, Yhwach reabsorbs the bestowed powers, while also requiring a constant absorption of souls; otherwise, the consequences... Haschwalth's words go unheard, but Uryū visibly appears stunned and bewildered by the revelation.
Phobos, Deimos
Episode 6 of BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 showcases the terrifying effects of As Nodt's fear manifestation. Standing atop a building, Rukia surveys the nightmarish scene surrounding her. Suddenly, she feels an icy grip encircle her wrist, causing her to flinch in alarm. As Nodt emerges, his presence dripping with an unsettling aura, and whispers hauntingly into her ear, questioning her fear. He expresses his own anguish at being separated from "his" Senbonzakura and seeks Byakuya, contemplating whether killing Rukia would draw him out. Unleashing his fear-inflicting thorns, As Nodt tries to pierce Rukia's resolve, who counters with a protective ice barrier. However, the insidious fear manages to infiltrate her being through her Zanpakutō. Despite the overwhelming sensation coursing through her, Rukia remains composed, posing a critical question to As Nodt about the source of his own fears and whether it is possible for his fear to be something incapable of experiencing fear itself. He rejects the notion, asserting that all things, without exception, are susceptible to fear.
She seizes one of his attacks with her bare hand, causing it to instantly freeze in place. She explains that although she can now tap into the true power of Sode no Shirayuki, it takes time for her body to fully adapt. Äs Nödt reiterates that his terror cannot be hindered by ice—a mere contact is enough for the fear to seep in through the wound. He believes that every individual has their own sources of safety and fear. As he elaborates, a disconcerting animation sequence illustrates how the fear spreads from the wound, overtaking Rukia completely. Äs Nödt enlightens her about the central role of fear in all living beings, as their fear of death drives their inherent desire to avoid it. "As long as you are alive, fear will always exert its influence."
Absolute Zero
In BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 Episode 6, Rukia finds herself frozen in fear when faced with Nodt. She realizes that fear no longer has power over her because she is not truly alive in her current state. Rukia unveils the true nature of her Zanpakuto, Sode no Shirayuki. Instead of emitting freezing air, it actually lowers the body temperature of its user, acting as an extension of their own being. Through manipulation of reishi, Rukia has discovered that she can temporarily "kill" her body, manifesting the effects of extreme cold. With grace and precision, she attacks her enemy, reaching an astonishing temperature of −273.15°C – Absolute Zero.
The Fear of God
In order to avoid causing damage, Rukia must thaw herself out slowly due to the fragile nature of her being. For a split-second, a terrifying image flashes before Äs Nödt's eyes, reminding him of his tragic past as a patient struggling to breathe while on life support, consumed by the fear of impending death. The memory of being offered power by Yhwach infuriates Äs Nödt, as he resents the idea of being afraid of Rukia. The only thing that truly scares him is facing rejection from Yhwach himself. This revelation triggers a horrifying transformation in which his irises rapidly oscillate, eventually being replaced by a Quincy cross, causing blood to seep from his eyes. This terrifying metamorphosis is known as the Quincy: Vollständig – Tatar Foras, quite possibly one of the most viscerally chilling transformations in the entire BLEACH series.Rukia's Vision of As Nodt – BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2, Episode 6
As Nödt's transformation was the stuff of nightmares, with his mouth showing a horrifying toothy grin as if the skin around it had been torn off. His bony figure was completely exposed, and a long cut from his chest to his throat was visible. During the transformation, his internal organs spilled out, and a dreadful sound echoed as the sutures held them in place. Blood streamed from his eyes. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka deserves praise for his performance in this role, which was even more terrifying due to Äs Nödt's gravelly voice, accentuated by the sutures preventing his throat from opening. As Rukia became enveloped in the intensified effect of his Fear ability, which now affected anyone who laid eyes on him, Byakuya arrived to assist his sister.
Äs Nödt unleashes a barrage of horrors and assumes a more terrifying form in response to Byakuya's indifference. A pivotal moment in the series occurs as Byakuya acknowledges Rukia's growth and entrusts her with the task of defeating this seemingly invincible foe. Overcoming her fear, Rukia taps into her Bankai: Hakka no Togame, ultimately triumphing over Äs Nödt as the end credits roll. As the frozen monstrosity crumbles, Rukia stands gracefully in her newfound form, exuding a pure white, almost ethereal, appearance. With admiration, Byakuya compliments her stunning Bankai, cautioning her against overexertion as no power is worth sacrificing one's life. As she thaws, he encourages her to continue advancing by his side.
