A fan of Elden Ring has come up with a bizarre method to defeat the game's most challenging boss, Malenia, using just a rubber band. Despite the numerous difficult boss fights in Elden Ring, Malenia stands out as the toughest encounter, with players attempting to beat her over 320 million times, surpassing other bosses like Radagon, Radahn, Margit, and the Tree Sentinel in Limgrave. While some players have already beaten Malenia using unconventional methods, such as being at level 1 or not rolling, this player's technique using a rubber band is perhaps the most unusual yet.
In a recent Reddit post, user BrownVented shared a video of their intense battle against Malenia in Elden Ring. However, what makes this fight unique is the modification made to BrownVented's DualSense controller. A rubber band was attached to the controller's right stick, causing the camera to continuously spin to the right throughout the entire fight. This added challenge made an already difficult battle even more intense.
In Elden Ring and other soulslike games, the right stick is also used to lock on to enemies, making this encounter even harder. BrownVented comes extremely close to defeating Malenia using this unconventional method, but unfortunately dies with the boss only having a sliver of health left. This approach is likely one of the toughest ways to fight any boss in Elden Ring, and it will be interesting to see if BrownVented can ultimately emerge victorious using this technique in the future.
Several users have expressed their discomfort in the comments section regarding the constant spinning of the camera. One player even went as far as to stop the video after only 20 seconds. Despite the player's loss, many gamers still congratulated BrownVented for their efforts, with some being particularly impressed by their determination. However, it appears that other Elden Ring fans are not keen on trying out this method any time soon, with one user sharing that it took them a total of 484 attempts to defeat Malenia in a regular battle. For those interested in playing Elden Ring, the game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
