In Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, the player begins by arriving on Rubicon and embarking on a mission to find a usable Mercenary License. This task forms the majority of the game's first mission.
As the first mission in Armored Core 6 nears its end, players will face the formidable AH12: HC Helicopter, an aggressive attack chopper that can prove to be quite challenging to handle. Since players are unable to modify their AC until the completion of this initial mission, they will rely on a default loadout consisting of a machine gun, missile pods, and a laser blade.
Attacks
The helicopter employs a combination of gatling guns and missiles in its attacks. It frequently unleashes AP rounds from the gatling guns on one or both of its sides. To effectively evade this attack, it is advisable to seek cover behind buildings or position oneself underneath the helicopter whenever possible, as this allows for a counterattack.
Underneath the helicopter, there are missile pods that discharge clusters of four missiles with each attack. These missiles can be evaded by swiftly boosting to the left or right. Alternatively, jumping and boosting into the air can provide avoidance as well. Taking cover behind buildings is also an effective tactic for dealing with these missiles. However, it is essential to note that going airborne is the ideal approach to avoid this attack, as the missiles have a large blast radius that can occasionally catch the player's AC even when quick boosting to the sides.

These projectiles, although easily dodged by swiftly moving left or right, possess strong homing capabilities, requiring players to time their evasive maneuvers precisely to escape the attack.
To effectively engage the helicopter, players should utilize the assault boost upon its arrival and execute a powerful combo using the laser blade. This strategy will not only induce a significant amount of ACS strain but also stagger the helicopter. After successfully landing the combo, players should create some distance while simultaneously bombarding it with missiles and gunfire, all while evading its attacks. It is advisable to remain in close proximity to the helicopter whenever possible, as it is unable to launch direct assaults beneath it with the majority of its weapons. By adhering to this tactic, players can exploit a favorable position to initiate another assault boost and execute a blade combo from below. By steadily accumulating enough ACS strain, the helicopter will eventually stagger, providing players with an optimal opportunity to inflict substantial damage while it recovers.
