Fans of Blizzard's iconic action RPG dungeon crawler series have been eagerly anticipating the release of Diablo 4 for quite some time now, and the wait is finally drawing to a close. With mere days to go until the game's launch, many are chomping at the bit to immerse themselves in the richly detailed world of angels, demons, and other assorted perils. For those lucky enough to have participated in the game's beta, the launch will serve as a continuation of their experience thus far. However, it's worth noting that the beta failed to showcase one of the game's most anticipated features.
Ever since Diablo 4 was announced at BlizzCon 2019, players have been clamoring to see where the series would go next, and what new innovations developer and publisher Blizzard would introduce. While the game retains some of the franchise's signature elements such as procedurally generated dungeons and loot-based progression, it also introduces a host of exciting new features. Among these is the game's robust customization options and expansive open world. However, perhaps the most eagerly anticipated addition for both fans and beta players alike is the inclusion of mounts - a first for the Diablo franchise.
Diablo 4's Beta
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Diablo 4, the latest entry in the series, which has been over a decade in the making. While there have been other content releases like expansion packs, a remaster of Diablo 2, and the controversial MMO Diablo Immortal, nothing compares to the excitement surrounding the release of the new game. The public betas offered players a glimpse into what they could expect from the upcoming title, albeit in a limited capacity. Gamers were only able to explore the Fractured Peaks, one of the five regions within the open world, and experience Diablo 4's Prologue and Act 1. While players were able to try out all five starting classes, and complete a fair number of missions, they were unable to experience other aspects of the game, such as mounts.
Mounts In Diablo 4
Mounts are a new addition to the Diablo franchise in Diablo 4, providing players with increased mobility and defense stats. Although inaccessible in the beta, mounts will be available in Act 2 and offer a significant advantage in traversing the vast world of Sanctuary. Customization options also allow players to tailor their mounts to their individual aesthetic preferences, including cosmetic changes and buff selection. Additionally, mounts can be utilized in combat with each class possessing unique dismount attacks, making for exciting and cinematic gameplay. Fans can look forward to the introduction of mounts upon the game's release.
Diablo 4 launches on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
