Presenting Ayaneo's newest addition to the gaming world - the KUN. This cutting-edge handheld gaming device surpasses its competitors with extended battery life, a spacious display, and resilient joysticks - ensuring enhanced gameplay. The KUN boasts the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU, which offers a higher TDP compared to both the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally. Additionally, it incorporates the advanced "KUNPeng" heat dissipation system, ensuring optimal temperature control. With its impressive 19500mAh (75Wh) battery capacity, the KUN surpasses both the Steam Deck and the Ally, providing extended gaming sessions. Mark your calendars for September 5 when pre-orders for the KUN will be open on Indigogo.
Ayaneo has recently unveiled its newest flagship handheld gaming device, the Ayaneo KUN, to rival the popular Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. On paper, the KUN boasts a longer battery life, a larger and higher resolution screen, and sturdier joysticks compared to its competitors. However, these enhanced features come with a higher price tag. Starting September 5, the Ayaneo KUN will be available for pre-order through an Indigogo campaign.
The demand for handheld gaming devices has skyrocketed in the past year, offering consumers a plethora of options to choose from. While there have been manufacturers producing handheld gaming devices for years, Valve captivated everyone's attention with its Steam Deck announcement in February of last year. This brought portable gaming to the mainstream and paved the way for other major players like Asus and Lenovo to enter the market. Ayaneo is among the companies that have been manufacturing handheld gaming PCs for many years and introduced its first device in 2020.
Ayeneo KUN Design And Specifications
The Ayaneo KUN stands as the company's latest release, drawing inspiration from both the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. This amalgamation proves advantageous, featuring a remarkable 8.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560x1600 and a peak brightness of 500 nits. In contrast, both the Deck and the Ally possess 7-inch screens, with the Ally offering an impressive 120Hz refresh rate—a feature absent in the other handhelds. However, due to its expansive display, the KUN surpasses even the Steam Deck in width, compromising its ergonomic design.

The Ayaneo KUN, Ayaneo's new handheld gaming device, will be equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 7040 series APUs that have integrated Radeon 700M graphics. With an impressive 8.4-inch 1600p display, hall-effect joysticks, and touchpads, the KUN offers an immersive gaming experience. However, the standout feature of the KUN is its incredible 75Wh 19500mAH battery, which is four times more powerful than the Steam Deck's battery.
Powering the device is the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU, which includes the Radeon 780M GPU. Its maximum rated TDP of 54W surpasses both the Steam Deck (15W) and the Ally (35W) significantly. To keep the KUN cool, Ayaneo has implemented the efficient "KUNPeng" heat dissipation system, consisting of a fan and a three-copper tube structure. Ayaneo has conducted temperature testing, revealing that under load, the device maintains temperatures between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius at 15W, 55 to 66 degrees at 30W, and 77 to 84 degrees at 54W.
The KUN outshines its competitors when it comes to battery capacity. With a massive 19500mAh (75Wh) battery, it leaves others in the dust. The company claims that this powerful battery can provide over three hours of usage at 15W. In comparison, the Steam Deck has a modest 5313mAh (40Wh) battery. The Ally also sports a 40Wh battery, but its actual capacity remains unknown, although it is likely similar to the Steam Deck. Keep in mind that battery life will vary depending on factors such as the game, resolution, in-game settings, refresh rate, and more.
