The recent update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has successfully addressed the Gimmighoul raid issue, as well as other reported problems. When these games were initially launched, players encountered various gameplay issues such as significant frame rate drops and areas of the map where they could fall through. However, the bug related to the Gimmighoul raid has now been resolved.
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players have the option to embark on three different paths to explore the game. The Path of Legends features Titan Pokemon, while Starfall Street focuses on Team Star, and Victory Road provides a more traditional Pokemon experience. Since the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, all three of these adventures were affected by glitches. Consequently, Nintendo has been diligently working on patches for these Gen 9 games. Since Gimmighoul is a highly sought-after Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet due to its coin collection feature, some players noticed a problem with the raids associated with this particular Pokemon.
The latest update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as confirmed by Serebii webmaster Joe Merrick, addresses the issue with Gimmighoul raids where Pokemon were displayed with an item. The coding for Gimmighoul raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet had a null value instead of a zero one, causing the Ghost-type Pokemon to potentially reward players with multiple items after the match. However, players can now expect the appropriate number of items from Gimmighoul raids as the hotfix will be applied when the game is launched.
Merrick provided a pre-patch screenshot showing Gimmighoul being captured from a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raid, with various items such as Grass Tera Shards, Nuggets, Swift Feathers, and multiple EXP Candies. This image highlights the issue that existed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet before the update, and players may not come across such a wide range of rewards again. Additionally, Merrick reassured a concerned fan that another raid experiencing a similar error was due to a different problem on the backend, unrelated to the null item value with Gimmighoul.
With the unintentional offering of items during Gimmighoul raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it is possible that players may experience a decrease in the number of items they receive in the future. As a result of the hotfix, it remains uncertain to what extent the community as a whole benefited from this error. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can be played on Nintendo Switch and are currently available.
