NetherRealm Studios has released a gameplay trailer for Quan Chi, the next character to join the MK1 roster, following a tease from Ed Boon. The trailer showcases the sorcerer’s ability to summon portals to the NetherRealm for teleportation and special attacks, including a tentacle coming through a portal to slam his opponent and Quan Chi himself jumping through a portal to land on top of his foe. Quan Chi will make his debut on December 14th.
In the upcoming Kameo fighter, Khameleon, you will see her using a combination of moves from some of Mortal Kombat’s most famous femme fatales--Kitana, Mileena, and Jade--to assist Quan Chi in battle. The trailer concludes with a brief glimpse of the next downloadable character, DC Comics’ Peacemaker, portrayed by none other than John Cena himself.
Quan Chi will be accessible to those with early access through the Kombat Pass on December 14 on all platforms. He will then be available for individual purchase on December 21. Khameleon will join the Kameo roster in January, while Peacemaker is set for inclusion in February.
Get Mortal Kombat 1 now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Kombat Pass gives you access to Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda, and is available for purchase separately or as part of MK1’s premium editions.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am excited about the release of the new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer. The trailer reveals the sinister sorcerer Quan Chi's powers, which include summoning portals to the NetherRealm for teleportation and special attacks. I am also intrigued by the cameo of Peacemaker, a character from the DC Comics universe, at the end of the trailer. This suggests that Mortal Kombat 1 will feature a variety of characters from different franchises, which I think is a great way to appeal to a wider audience.
Overall, I am impressed with the new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer and I am looking forward to the release of the game. I think that the game will be a lot of fun to play and I am excited to see what other surprises the developers have in store for us.
