The quest in Act V of Diablo V finds the Wanderer and their comrades, Lorath, Neyrelle, and Donan, on a mission to re-attune the soulstone of Astaroth. The task requires Horadric knowledge, possessed only by Donan, who is struggling with grief after losing his son to the very same soulstone. Taissa expresses concerns about Donan's emotional state and suggests that he needs to confront his inner demons to complete the process. She offers a concoction that requires Maggot Queen Ichor and Yellow Lotus Flower to aid him on this journey.
Maggot Queen Ichor Location
To properly prepare for the psychedelic journey ahead, Donan must consume the first component of the cocktail - Maggot Queen Ichor. As he traverses through the Hungering Swamp, he will encounter numerous maggots squirming around the tunnels along with other insects and flies in the vicinity. However, it is important not to engage in random killing spree as these maggots only hold significance when eliminated in the highlighted area that emerges upon approaching them.
The overworld of Diablo 4 remains static, but players can expect randomized dungeons, cellars, and other instanced adventure areas. However, story dungeons in the game are not randomized, and the path to reach the Maggot Queen Ichor is expected to be identical for all players.
To begin the quest, players can head west from Taissa's hut and continue southeast along the main path until they spot a yellow circle on the minimap. Entering this circle will prompt the appearance of Maggots, which players must defeat to summon the Maggot Queen. After defeating her, players can retrieve the Maggot Queen Ichor and return to the hut.
Yellow Lotus Flower Location
Collect the Yellow Lotus Flower, conveniently located just north of Taissa's Hut. Follow the path around a small loop until you reach the top, where the flower will spawn as a collectible item on the ground. Return to Taissa's Hut with the flower and Maggot Queen Ichor to trigger one of the game's most intense and trippy sequences, accompanied by emotionally charged dialogue.
