There is a possibility of Formula One facing chaos if Felipe Massa manages to win his legal claim for the 2008 world championship, warns Toto Wolff, the team principal at Mercedes. Massa, a former Ferrari driver who is now 42 years old, has accused the sport's authorities of being aware of the manipulation that took place during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix but failing to take any action until a year later, ultimately denying him the title.
At the latest edition of the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend, Wolff told reporters that he doesn't believe the Brazilian has a valid argument, to be frank.
"We adhere to clear sporting regulations as license holders. Opening up situations would create chaos within the sport, especially considering the full championships. There are numerous factors that influence the outcome of winning or losing, making it difficult to see a clear-cut case."
"For me this is like watching a telenovela or soap opera playing out in front of me," added the Austrian.

The www.motorsport.com website quoted Massa expressing his belief that Wolffs comments validated their progress and highlighted the growing recognition of the significance and gravity of their case in the world of F1.
"I am determined to seek justice and fulfill my childhood dream of bringing a championship title to my nation, for the Brazilians, and also for the tifosi (Ferrari fans)."
Wolff had previously stated that Massa's case would undoubtedly establish a precedent, and Mercedes was observing the situation with interest.
In a race filled with controversy, Hamilton was unable to secure the 2021 championship title at the final race in Abu Dhabi. Red Bull's Max Verstappen emerged as the victor, benefiting from the altered safety car procedure implemented by the former race director, Michael Masi.
