However, for those desiring to explore the entirety of The Lands Between, venturing on foot proves to be the optimal choice. Though feasible to traverse the entire route on foot, players must be adequately prepared to confront formidable adversaries or swiftly evade them. In order to facilitate the expedition to Volcano Manor on foot, the following guide has been revised and now includes a video illustrating the recommended path to undertake.

Walking To Volcano Manor

To reach Volcano Manor, players can choose to walk, although it is a considerable distance from Elden Ring's starting zone. The journey begins by venturing into Mt. Gelmir, a northern region beyond Liurnia of the Lakes and Atlas Plateau. These areas are fraught with formidable adversaries who possess the ability to eliminate low-level players with a single strike. Hence, it is strongly advised that Tarnished adventurers postpone their visit to Volcano Manor until they have reached an appropriate level (a recommended minimum being Level 50).

To embark on the journey to Volcano Manor, adventurers should commence at the foot of Mt. Gelmir, by sprinting from the Erdtree Gazing Hill in Atlas Plateau. From the vantage point of the Site of Grace, players will notice a distant hillside adorned with a modest statue. Making their way to that statue and veering left, while traversing the treacherous Wyndham Ruins (watch out for the Tibia Mariner boss), they will eventually reach a cave-like structure housing the Seethewater River Site of Grace. Continuing north from this sacred site marks the commencement of the arduous ascent up Mt. Gelmir.

The path ahead is relatively straightforward. Players should continue moving north, following each path as it inclines upwards. Eventually, they will come across a striking series of towering rock walls. To reach the summit, they will need to climb long ladders protruding from these walls. As players draw nearer, they will catch a glimpse of Volcano Manor in the distance. A sure sign of proximity is spotting a lengthy rope bridge spanning a gap. On the other side awaits a Site of Grace, accompanied by a ladder and a nearby jump pad used by Torrent.

Players should exercise caution when ascending this peak, as utilizing either the ladder or jump pad will trigger an immediate encounter with the formidable Fully-Grown Falling Star Beast, which dwells atop Mt. Gelmir. However, players can avoid startling the beast by utilizing the jump pad and veering towards the right, safely landing on the edge of the "arena" while propelled by Torrent. Upon reaching the summit, players will notice a prominent rock protruding from the right side of the boss arena. By dashing to the edge of this rock and descending, they will find themselves on the final path leading to Volcano Manor. It is important to note that defeating the Fully-Grown Falling Star Beast is not a prerequisite for reaching Volcano Manor.

Ascending Mt. Gelmir is not the sole way for players to reach Volcano Manor. There is an alternative method that allows instant teleportation to the fiery location, and it becomes accessible much earlier in the game. To utilize this "fast travel" option, players must first gain entry to Raya Lucaria and then progress through the initial area until they arrive at the Church of the Cuckoo Site of Grace. Continuing from there and venturing outside, players will come across the Raya Lucaria graveyard, a straightforward path that eventually leads to a colossal turning wheel functioning as an elevator.

After reaching the elevator, players must jump onto one of the ascending pads and ride it until it reaches the highest point of the wheel and flips upside down. To prevent fall damage, they should swiftly move down the wheel and snag a different inverted pad as their initial one flips over. Once inverted, players can smoothly ride the platform downward until it starts ascending in the opposite direction. This maneuver will lower them into a spacious underground area adorned with numerous nearby crystals.

A menacing Abductor Virgin lurks nearby, resembling a colossal Iron Maiden equipped with spinning saws as "hands." Approaching it will trigger a hostile response. The objective is for players to intentionally fall victim to a specific attack executed by the Abductor Virgin. When the Abductor Virgin exposes the front of its iron maiden and extends its inner arms forward, players should position themselves in close proximity. The creature will seize and confine them within its metallic framework, inflicting substantial damage. If the player perishes during this entrapment, the traditional "You Died" game over screen will appear, seemingly signaling a return to a prior Site of Grace. However, upon reloading the game, players will astonishingly find themselves within the confines of the basement in Volcano Manor.

The Twin Virgin Abductors boss must be defeated in order to advance through the rest of the Manor and escape the area. Alternatively, players can teleport back to a previous Site of Grace, but they must first make enough progress in Volcano Manor to discover a Site of Grace there.

Complete Rya's Questline To Teleport To Volcano Manor

The Abductor Virgin isn't the sole means for players to teleport to Volcano Manor. The simplest overall method to reach the lava-laden location doesn't involve facing any bosses. To access Volcano Manor, players must locate and converse with Rya to initiate her brief questline. Rya can be found north of the Laskyar Ruins in Liurnia of the Lakes. Near the ruins, players will discover her by the Birdseye Telescope, situated just north of the ruins. Within a gazebo-like structure, she will be standing near a statue.

Rya will inform players that her necklace has been stolen and she is desperate to retrieve it. If players choose to assist her, they must locate the person who took it and recover it. The particular NPC involved can be found crouched down outside of the Boilprawn Shack, directly Northwest of Rya's current location. Speaking to this individual will provide players with an opportunity to inquire about the necklace, and if they wish to reclaim it, they will need to pay 1000 Runes. By paying this nominal fee, players will be rewarded with the necklace, which they can then return to Rya.

Rya expresses her gratitude towards the player and discloses her affiliation with Lady Tanith of Volcano Manor. As players engage in conversation with her multiple times, they will eventually need to advance in their journey until they reach Atlus Plateau via the Grand Lift of Dectus. Upon arriving at the top of the lift, players will easily spot Rya waiting by a banister on the left. Speaking to her in this location prompts the NPC to extend her hand to the player, resulting in an immediate teleportation to Tanith's Chambers within Volcano Manor.
