The 1.3.2 update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was released on June 28. This update brought some new adjustments to Game Freak's popular RPGs. It arrived approximately one month after the release of version 1.3.1 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The latest mainline Pokemon games were highly praised for their transition to open-world gameplay and the significant player freedom that came with it. However, Scarlet and Violet received the lowest ratings among the mainline Pokemon games, largely due to major technical issues experienced upon their initial release. In response, Game Freak has been diligently working to improve their RPGs since their debut in November 2022, resulting in the release of six updates for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Update 1.3.2 Patch Notes
The games have been updated to version 1.3.2 with the sixth patch, according to Nintendo's support pages. This update includes "mechanic adjustments" in preparation for upcoming live tournaments. Although the changelog doesn't provide details, the Switch patch notes from Serebii reveal that the latest version of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also modifies the Illuminate ability. This ability is used to increase the encounter rate of wild Pokemon and now has an additional effect of preventing a creature's accuracy from being lowered. Additionally, the patch notes confirm that there are bug fixes included in this update.
Made some alterations for the Live Competitions
Changed text for the Illuminate ability to: "By Illuminating its surroundings, the Pokemon prevents its accuracy from being lowered."
Additional bug fixes have been incorporated. It is mandatory to download this update in order to access Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's online multiplayer functionalities, including tournaments and trading. The patch was released a week after Game Freak fixed a reported issue with Gimmighoul raids, which resulted in players receiving excessive rewards. This previous update did not alter the game's version number.
Content: Based on Pokemon Sword and Shield, it can be expected that Game Freak will continue to provide updates for Scarlet and Violet until at least early 2024. Their previous support track record suggests that the next major update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will likely be released before August, potentially being the final patch before the launch of The Teal Mask, the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion. The recent June 21 Nintendo Direct provided new details about this DLC, but did not specify the exact release window. The initial announcement in February stated that The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk will be released in Q3 and Q4, respectively.
