The iconic shield wielded by Captain America has become a beloved symbol of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From its debut in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, to its journey frozen in ice with Steve Rogers, and its eventual passing on to Sam Wilson in Avengers: Endgame, the shield has been a constant presence in the franchise. Now, Marvel fans can own their own replica of the shield with a new LEGO set from The Infinity Saga line, which boasts an impressive 3,128 pieces and sits at 18.5 inches in diameter once constructed. The set is currently available for pre-sale at $199.99 and will begin shipping on Aug. 1.

Captain America's Shield Is Still Important In The MCU's Multiverse Saga
For Marvel fans who are also LEGO enthusiasts, the Captain America's shield set is a must-have. With an 18+ age label, it's designed for adult fans who want to construct a detailed model of the iconic shield. Once completed, the set also comes with a stand that proudly displays the shield, complete with a nameplate featuring the LEGO logo, The Infinity Saga logo and Captain America's name.
After Steve Rogers' retirement as Captain America, Sam Wilson took on the mantle and shield in the Phase 4 TV show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As a Black man in modern times, Sam grappled with the implications of being Captain America. Initially, he gave the shield to the U.S. government, but they appointed John Walker as the new Captain America, prompting Sam to reclaim the title and shield. The series concluded with Sam receiving a new Captain America outfit to complement the shield.
In his upcoming solo movie Captain America: New World Order, Sam Wilson will face his first true test as a legacy character in the MCU. He will be the first to take on the mantle of an original Avenger and lead a solo project without the previous actor. Recent set photos and videos of Anthony Mackie in a new costume may suggest that Sam is losing the white vibranium suit given to him by the Wakandans at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. If this is the case, it's possible that Wakanda may also reclaim Captain America's shield from Sam. While this is only speculation, if the movie's storyline involves Wakanda and vibranium, the shield will undoubtedly be a part of the conversation. Regardless of what happens, Captain America's shield is expected to play a significant role in the movie, continuing the legacy that began in Captain America: The First Avenger.
