This formidable foe poses a significant threat and is likely to be the most challenging encounter players have faced thus far. The Sea Spider makes its appearance in the climactic mission of chapter 2, protecting the pathway to the Cargo Launcher.

With its impressive speed and extensive repertoire of attacks, the Sea Spider becomes even more formidable during its second phase. To conquer this adversary in Armored Core 6, follow these strategies:

Attacks

Phase 1

In combat, the Sea Spider relies heavily on energy weapons. It is capable of launching a rapid barrage of rotating lasers while leaping, and can also unleash concentrated bursts from its turret when stationary or upon landing. Additionally, it can charge up a devastating beam that can sweep either horizontally or vertically, causing immense damage upon contact. To avoid the rotating shot during its mid-jump, it is advisable to remain in close proximity to the Sea Spider, while quick boost movements to the left or right can help evade the concentrated bursts.

When the beam charging begins, players should observe the initial attack pattern. If the Sea Spider aims to the left or right of the player's position, it will execute a horizontal sweep. This can be avoided by boosting into the air. Alternatively, if it aims vertically, a vertical sweep will occur, but it can be dodged by boosting left or right. Sometimes, the Sea Spider will charge up a bolt instead. This bolt can be dodged in the same manner as the vertical sweep. However, players should be aware that a second bolt will always follow shortly after the first dodge, requiring a second dodge to avoid both.

Additionally, the Sea Spider will shoot bolts into the air, which will descend after a delay. These can be best avoided by continuously moving, as the Sea Spider's attacks lack accurate homing abilities.

The Sea Spider wields an exceptionally potent melee attack, utilizing its front legs to lunge forward and deliver downward thrusts with laser blades. To evade this maneuver, swiftly boost in a diagonal forward direction, enabling the AC to slip beneath the Spider and evade its assault. In order to evade this attack effectively, it is advisable to promptly boost away from the creature as soon as it begins hovering.

Phase 2

Once the Sea Spider's health dwindles to approximately one-third, it undergoes a remarkable transformation and ascends into the sky, commencing its aerial and spinning maneuvers. In this state, it unleashes a formidable laser blast from its core, triggering a colossal explosion. The optimal strategy to dodge this devastating attack involves taking flight or, ideally, remaining airborne before the Sea Spider launches its assault.

Strategy (How to Beat Sea Spider in Armored Core 6)

The Sea Spider will propel forward while rotating its legs, unleashing laser blades from each limb. Evading this assault is as simple as positioning oneself above the creature while it executes the maneuver. Additionally, during this phase, the Sea Spider will unleash laser fire as another means of attack. However, by constantly staying on the move, whether on the ground or in mid-air, one can successfully avoid the laser fire.

To effectively combat the Sea Spider, utilizing Tetrapod Legs is highly recommended as it grants the player aerial superiority and enables them to unleash devastating attacks on the Spider, especially during phase 2. Alternatively, Reverse Joint Legs paired with a lightweight AC can also prove effective, although they will spend more time on the ground and be susceptible to the Sea Spider's more perilous assaults. It is advantageous to have a reasonably fast AC for this battle.

The Sea Spider is highly susceptible to ACS Strain, which can be exploited by utilizing grenade launchers or a 10-cell missile launcher on the AC's shoulders, referred to as SONGBIRDS. Employing explosive weaponry in the right hand is also remarkably effective for this purpose. Once the Sea Spider is staggered, the best approach is to engage in melee combat to inflict maximum damage. Laser Blades and Pile Bunkers are particularly effective in this regard. This strategy is advantageous in both phases, where the aim is to stagger the Spider with explosive weaponry and subsequently unleash a barrage of melee attacks.

The most effective method for inflicting ACS strain on the creature and staggering it is to employ SONGBIRDS grenade launchers. Once the Sea Spider is staggered, players can utilize the ASHMEAD Pile Bunker to deliver substantial damage. By employing this setup, players will be able to swiftly diminish the Sea Spider's health.
