Unleash Unparalleled Power: Discover the Ultimate Diablo 4 Sorcerer Build for Dominating XP!

Discover a potential drawback in Diablo 4's ice Sorcerer build, as a player uncovers its impact on leveling up, shedding light on the XP disadvantage tied to this specific skill tree path

A player of Diablo 4 has pointed out that using an ice Sorcerer build can result in lower experience gained from enemies that spawn new enemies upon death. Like the other classes in Diablo 4, the Sorcerer has various paths to choose from while progressing through the game, but the ice path may not be as rewarding in certain areas of Sanctuary.

When starting the game, new players of Diablo 4 can select from classes such as the Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer. While the Sorcerer has similar skills to the Sorceress in Diablo 2, there are key differences between the two versions of elemental spellcasters. One particular change in the Sorcerer's abilities has been highlighted by a player, who has warned future Sorcerers about a potential build that could negatively impact their gameplay.

A correlation has been discovered by Reddit user Chozo007 between a Diablo 4 ice Sorcerer build and experience losses. This correlation specifically occurs when shattering frozen spider hosts. When the spider hosts are shattered, their minions, which are created upon death, do not spawn. As a result, Chozo007 is unable to acquire the XP they would have received if they had killed the creature in a different way. Chozo007 did not realize this flaw in the level-grinding ice Sorcerer build until they reached level 90. In these spider dungeons, they were gaining less than half of the XP they would have obtained if they had used an alternative build.

To avoid experiencing the same issue, Diablo 4 players should avoid shattering spider hosts when grinding for experience in Boulder Ridge and the Fractured Peaks. Giant Spiders, on the other hand, create their own minions by implanting eggs in dead bodies. Since they die in a normal way, the shattering issue that affects spider hosts should not impact these creatures. To prevent further experience losses in Diablo 4, players may want to consider using a fire or lightning build, or at least a build that avoids freezing and shattering enemies like the ice Sorcerer build.

Despite experiencing a decrease in experience gains in Diablo 4, Chozo007 may have benefited from receiving the bonus XP for clearing a room, which could potentially compensate for the losses. As Blizzard continues to update Diablo 4 during the anticipation for season 1, it is possible that the enemies, which currently generate additional mobs upon death, may be patched to provide all the experience at once, particularly benefiting ice Sorcerers who shatter their foes.

Diablo 4 is currently accessible on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
