Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can finally look forward to a new seven-star Tera raid battle after a long wait. This exciting news comes just as the Gimmighoul Tera raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ended, having lasted for almost two weeks.
In the previous seven-star Tera raid battle, players in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet faced off against Chesnaught the Unrivaled, a formidable Rock-type Tera. However, due to some technical issues causing game crashes after battles, the rematch was postponed for several weeks. Thankfully, these raids returned in June, allowing players to take on the challenges of Chesnaught, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads. Now, trainers can anticipate the arrival of a new seven-star Tera raid challenge to put their skills to the test.
Starting from Friday, July 7 at 0:00 UTC until Sunday, July 9 at 23:59 UTC, trainers playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have the opportunity to challenge Delphox the Unrivaled. Delphox will possess the Fairy-type as its Tera type. For those who miss this chance, there will be another opportunity the following weekend, from Friday, July 14 to Sunday, July 16. This raid comes shortly after the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch 1.3.2, which introduced fixes to live tournaments and addressed undisclosed bugs.
Delphox, originally a Fire and Psychic dual-type Pokemon from the Kalos region, is the final evolution of Fennekin, the Fire-type starter from Pokemon X and Y. This Fox Pokemon is a speedy special attacker with decent special defense. Like the other seven-star Tera raid bosses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Delphox will have its Hidden Ability, Magician. With Magician, Delphox can steal held items from its target. In addition, its move Magic Room nullifies all held items for five turns, presenting a challenge for trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Delphox possesses the ability to learn potent moves like Mystical Fire, Psychic, and Dazzling Gleam, which it can use to capitalize on its special attack. To bolster these moves, players can utilize Nasty Plot or Calm Mind. When facing off against Delphox, Dark and Poison type Pokemon, such as Alolan Muk, Overqwil, and Skuntank, along with Pokemon possessing Flash Fire, like Heatran, may prove crucial in defeating this formidable opponent.
In addition, Delphox completes the trio of starters from Pokemon X and Y that have been featured as formidable Tera raid bosses. Greninja kicked off this series in February, followed more recently by Chesnaught. Trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will undoubtedly face a true challenge in their battles with Delphox.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
