Apple's upcoming flagship smartphone, the iPhone 15, is set to be the ultimate gaming device. Preorders for the iPhone 15, including the high-end iPhone 15 Pro, are now available. Boasting numerous enhancements and a new USB-C port, the iPhone 15 Pro will feature Apple's fastest processor currently on the market. In an interview with IGN, the team confidently declared it "the best game console."
Check out the iPhone 15 Pro color lineup. The A17 chip powering the iPhone 15 Pro incorporates a 6-core GPU, perfectly aligned with Apple's gaming ambitions. Apple even went as far as announcing that the iPhone 15 Pro will have native support for several popular AAA games, including the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and Death Stranding. What's even more impressive is that some of these games will also support ray tracing.
Apple representatives reassured users that graphically intense games would not strain the hardware of mobile phones, specifically compact devices like the iPhone. Kaiann Drance, the Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing at Apple, stated to IGN that the iPhone 15 Pro has been optimized to handle high resolutions, frame rates, and continually sustain them. To aid developers in achieving this, Apple has introduced technologies like MetalFX, which enhances graphics performance specifically for gaming.
"There is a possibility that developers could potentially misuse the powerful GPU and cause damage to the phone," stated Tim Millet, Apple’s VP of Platform Architecture. "Although we have preventive measures in place, it is possible that they might engage in activities that are not ideal for user experience. However, we provide them with tools like MetalFX to ensure they can optimize performance and prolong the overall user experience if they choose to."
As of now, the implementation of this technology is still pending, so we will have to wait and observe. Meanwhile, you can now pre-order the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro from the Apple website and other leading retailers.
