Supergiant Games has announced that Hades II is set to enter early access in the second quarter of 2024. More information regarding the specific release date, pricing, and system requirements will be provided closer to the launch.
According to Supergiant, Hades II will debut with a substantial amount of content right from the start, surpassing the amount available in the first game during its initial early access release on Steam. This is significant because the original Hades was first introduced in early access on the Epic Game Store in 2018, followed by its availability on Steam a year later. The full version of the game was then released in September 2020. Essentially, early access for Hades II will commence with a greater level of content compared to the original Hades' early access phase on Steam.
According to a blog post by Supergiant, they believe that the timeframe they have in mind for the game's development will be ideal. It will be advanced enough that player feedback will not largely consist of information that they are already aware is missing, but not so advanced that it will be too late for them to make changes based on the feedback they receive.
Before the early access release of Hades 2, there will be a technical test. This test will have a smaller amount of content compared to the early access version, and only a limited number of players will be invited to participate. More information will be provided as the development of the test build progresses.
Hades II's early access plan will follow a similar structure to its predecessor. It will begin with an early access launch, followed by a series of significant updates that incorporate player feedback and introduce fresh content. These updates will enhance the game by expanding the storyline with new characters and additional scenes involving existing characters. Ultimately, the full release of the game will bring the story to its conclusion.
While Supergiant has not provided a specific release date for version 1.0, interested players can now add Hades II to their wishlists on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
