Consider more than just endgame strength or leveling ease when selecting your Diablo 4 character class. While tough enemies are abundant in Sanctuary, Treasure Goblins offer rare and fantastic rewards upon defeat, making them a highly sought-after foe. These elusive enemies are not easy to take down due to their speed and tendency to flee, but classes such as Sorcerer and Rogue have unique advantages that make them ideal for Treasure Goblin hunting. First introduced in Diablo 3, these enemies have increased chances of dropping coveted loot like legendary items and cosmetics.
Diablo 4’s Sorcerer and Rogue Make Catching Treasure Goblins Much Easier
In Diablo 4, Treasure Goblins are notorious for their lightning-fast speed, often outpacing players in pursuit. These mischievous creatures will even go so far as to lead other enemies towards the player, making capturing them a daunting task. However, players can level the playing field by utilizing the Sorcerer and Rogue classes' exceptional utility skills to slow them down. Rather than relying on increased movement speed, the key to success lies in applying Cold elemental damage to these elusive creatures. Cold damage inflicts a movement speed debuff on enemies, which can even freeze them in place, providing the perfect opportunity to capture them and claim their valuable loot.
Sorcerers and Rogues are capable of inflicting Cold damage from a distance, depending on their chosen build and the skills and equipment they have invested in. Sorcerers have an advantage in freezing enemies with their Frost Bolt and Ice Shards skills, allowing them to inflict the status condition and deal increased damage to Frozen enemies. Meanwhile, Rogues can opt for the Cold Archer build, which utilizes the Imbuement mechanic to imbue their arrows with Cold damage from afar.
While other classes can deal Cold damage, Sorcerers and Rogues have the most reliable access to the element and can consistently inflict it from a distance. This makes them well-equipped to handle Treasure Goblins and other enemy types in Diablo 4. Although the ease of hunting Treasure Goblins may not be the most crucial factor, it could be a deciding factor for players who are still undecided on which class to play.
Diablo 4 is available now in early access with its full launch coming June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
