In the opening moments of Baldur's Gate 3, players encounter Lae'zel, a character aboard the ship. Following the crash, she is later discovered near the site of the rough landing, but is captured by two Tieflings. When players come across her, they are confronted with a challenging dilemma: whether to eliminate her and claim her possessions, or to release her and incorporate her into their party, thus progressing her storyline in BG3. Here are some considerations for players to bear in mind when making this crucial choice.
Lae’zel’s Dilemma Choice in BG3
After players head north from the starting point towards the location where the Nautiloid crashes, they will encounter two Tieflings engaging in a conversation about the course of action concerning Lae'zel. In close proximity to the Tieflings, players will discover Lae'zel confined in a cage. At this juncture, players will be presented with the following options:
Deceive the Tieflings and make them leave to save Lae'zel.
Convince the Tieflings to kill Lae'zel.
Choosing one of the options in Baldur's Gate 3 will inevitably have consequences for the story. However, when it comes to deciding on Lae'zel's fate, things become less straightforward. Each choice carries its own advantages and disadvantages.
It is important to exercise caution in selecting class-based responses, as certain classes tend to come across as more aggressive than others. This aggression can potentially escalate the situation, ultimately leading to a violent resolution.
Kill Lae’Zel in Baldur’s Gate 3
If players opt to kill Lae'Zel, the Tieflings will release her from the cage, triggering the start of the fight. At this juncture, gamers will have a second opportunity to rescue this Githyanki warrior. However, if they choose to align with the Tieflings, Lae'Zel can be swiftly defeated. This enables players to acquire valuable equipment from her, which can then be sold for lucrative Gold. Nevertheless, players will not have the option to pursue a romantic relationship with her, nor can they continue the Lae'Zel questline in Baldur's Gate 3.
Save Lae’Zel in Baldur’s Gate 3
Should players choose to protect Lae'Zel from the Tieflings, she will become a member of their party. They will also have the opportunity to engage in a romantic relationship with Lae'Zel and embark on her own Companion quest. Moreover, it is worth noting that she excels in combat, with impressive stats that are outlined below:
