Unforgettable Performance: Alan Wake 2 Cast Shines On Stage at The Game Awards

Alan Wake 2's thrilling showcase at The Game Awards features actors Ikka Villi, Matthew Poretta, and David Harewood, alongside Creative Director Sam Lake, delivering a captivating live performance of the game's mesmerizing anthem Herald of Darkness A truly unforgettable moment!

The majority of the cast of Alan Wake 2 graced the stage at the 2023 Game Awards to perform the song "Herald of Darkness" from the game, making it a standout moment at Geoff Keighley's award show. The Finnish band Poets of the Fall, embodying their in-game counterparts, the Old Gods of Asgard, delivered a performance that captured the essence of a pivotal moment in Alan Wake 2. The song revisits Alan's journey leading up to the events of the first game, providing a quick recap of the plot in order to set the stage for the rest of the game.

The song, in true Remedy Entertainment fashion, includes meta elements that echo the game's storyline and characters. The performance at the Game Awards featured Ikka Villi, the actor who plays Alan Wake, and Matthew Porretta, the voice of Wake, both contributing to the fully choreographed performance. David Harewood, who plays Mr. Door in the game, also participated. The three actors, along with Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake, who portrays Alex Casey in the game, joined the dancers on stage for the full choreography. Earlier in the evening, Sam Lake accepted the Best Narrative award for Alan Wake 2.

It's hard to describe how excellent this is, but you should really watch it--preferably after playing the moment in the game.
