Ryan Mallett's girlfriend, Madison Carter, expressed her deep emotions in a poignant tribute to the deceased athlete who passed away at the age of 35.

"Incredibly difficult to find the right words," Carter wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post on Sunday, July 2. "For 27 years, I had been praying for you, and finally, our paths crossed. While I believe that God has a purpose for everything, I may never comprehend the reason behind this tragedy. I deeply regret my inability to rescue you, and I hope you understand the immense effort I put forth."

Carter commended Mallett for his ability to always find the good in others. Expressing immense gratitude, she conveyed that she could never thank him sufficiently for the love he had shown her. Despite their brief time together, Mallett had managed to fulfill her lifelong longing for love. Carter acknowledged his fierce and unapologetic love, revealing that they had started making plans for their future. Recognizing that some might find their intense connection in such a short period of time unbelievable, she explained that Mallett had helped her realize that love transcends time constraints when two souls intertwine.

She concluded her heartfelt message by admitting that she did not know how she would ever move on from Mallett's untimely demise. Nevertheless, she felt honored to have experienced his love and be reciprocally cherished by him. Carter expressed her profound gratitude for the life-changing impact he had on her and emphasized that no amount of time spent together would have ever been enough. Vowing to cherish their memories, she professed her love for Mallett and hoped that he would watch over them until they were reunited once again.

On June 27, the White Hall School District in Arkansas, where he served as a varsity football coach, announced the passing of Coach Ryan Mallett. The district's Facebook page shared a post expressing deep sadness and describing Coach Mallett as a cherished coach and educator. The post also requested prayers for his family, team, students, fellow coaches, and the staff of the White Hall School District.

On the same day, the Okaloosa Country Sheriff’s Office in Florida reported the unfortunate drowning death of a tourist in Destin. According to an official statement posted on the office’s Twitter page, a group of individuals was apparently struggling offshore when one man submerged. Lifeguards discovered him unconscious and attempts to save him were unsuccessful. Through a subsequent tweet, authorities identified the victim as 35-year-old Ryan Mallett from Arkansas and expressed their sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Mallett, a former University of Arkansas quarterback, was selected in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He spent four years as a backup to Tom Brady before being traded to the Houston Texans. From 2015 to 2017, he played for the Baltimore Ravens.

Following his retirement from professional football, Mallett started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Mountain Home High School in Arkansas in 2020. In the previous year, he took on the role of head football coach at White Hall High School.

Weeks prior to his demise, Mallett publicly disclosed his romantic involvement with Carter by updating his Facebook relationship status on June 1st to "In a Relationship with Madison Carter." Subsequently, in the same month, Mallett commemorated their bond by posting a selfie of the pair, captioned as "A heartfelt tribute to my dear companion and caregiver, Madison Carter."
