Content: Ryan Mallett, a former NFL quarterback, revealed a new romantic relationship just weeks before he passed away at the age of 35. On June 1, the late athlete updated his Facebook relationship status to "In a Relationship with Madison Carter." Friends showed their support and congratulated Mallett in the comments section.
"Congratulations to both of you! She is absolutely lovely and as for you... well, she's a lovely lady! (Just kidding, my friend!)" a Facebook user commented enthusiastically.
In a later post on Facebook, the former Baltimore Ravens player shared a selfie of the couple. The caption on the post read, "I just wanted to express my appreciation for my incredible DR/driver/nurse, Madison Carter," posted on June 18th.
Carter is currently pursuing her studies at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Arkansas State, as stated on her Facebook profile.
Mallett, who held the position of head coach for varsity football at the White Hall School District in Arkansas, sadly passed away on Tuesday, June 27. The official Facebook page of the school district shared this unfortunate news with the public.

The official cause of Mallett's death has not been disclosed. On Tuesday, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office reported that a tourist had passed away in a suspected drowning incident off the coast of Gulf Shore Drive in Destin, Florida.
According to a statement on their official Facebook page, a group of individuals near the second sandbar in the water were reportedly struggling to return to shore. Tragically, one of them, an adult male, went underwater and was not breathing when rescued. Despite immediate lifesaving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the Destin Emergency Room.
In an update shared on Wednesday, the page confirmed that the adult male was identified as Mallett. The message expressed sincere condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones for their loss in this tragic incident.

Former teammates at the University of Michigan and the University of Arkansas, Mallett was chosen by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft. He fulfilled the role of Tom Brady's backup for four years before being traded to the Houston Texans in 2014. From 2015 to 2017, he continued his career with the Ravens. Upon learning of Mallett's passing, the Patriots expressed their condolences and tribute on Twitter.
