What is Violet Evergarden anime about?

Having been entangled in war and trained solely for combat, Violet Evergarden tragically lost her arms during the conflict, but has since been fitted with new prosthetics.

Following the war, Violet started a fresh chapter at CH Postal Services, where she took on the role of an Auto Memory Doll, essentially a ghostwriter. During a time when many struggled to express their emotions in writing, it became the duty of an Auto Memory Doll to accurately convey the emotions of their clients and help transform their lives.
During her time at the Postal Services, her focus was on unraveling the significance of the final words spoken by her mentor and guardian, Major Gilbert: "I love you." Raised for warfare, she struggled to grasp the true essence of those words.
