All Hidden Treasure locations in Super Mario RPG
To discover the hidden treasures in Super Mario RPG, you need to jump and strike them. The Signal Ring is a helpful tool for pinpointing their locations. Equipping the Signal Ring on any character, even if they are not currently active, triggers a notification in the top-right corner of your screen to alert you of a nearby hidden treasure. Additionally, there is an NPC who keeps track of how many hidden treasures you have found during your adventure.
How to get the Signal Ring
In the Mushroom Kingdom, specifically in the basement of the item shop, you can find the Signal Ring. Speak to the NPC there who will ask you to jump, revealing an invisible block. The NPC will then give you the Signal Ring.
Ensure that at least one character has the Signal Ring equipped.
How to keep track of all Hidden Treasures you've found
To keep track of all the Super Mario RPG Hidden Treasures you have discovered, it is best to progress further in the campaign until you reach Monstro Town. Head to the elder's house, which is the first one to the right when you arrive in the village. Once inside, go to the room on the second floor. The treasure mimic NPC in this room will inform you of how many treasures you have found thus far. Additionally, you will find a starfish in this room that allows you to play the third tune in Melody Bay.
NPCs in Monstro Town will inform you about any remaining Hidden Treasures that can still be obtained.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Mushroom Kingdom region
To assist you in finding these hidden items, we have categorized our Super Mario RPG Hidden Treasures guide according to the different regions. Starting with the Mushroom Kingdom and Bandit's Way, let's uncover the secrets that lie within.
Mushroom Kingdom Hidden Treasures
Hidden Treasure #1: The initial Hidden Treasure in the game can be found in the basement of the item shop. It forms a part of the task assigned by the Non-Player Character (NPC) who rewards you with the Signal Ring.
Hidden Treasure #2: The following Hidden Treasure is also located in the aforementioned room. Patience is required as you should wait for the NPC to move to the corner before leaping onto their head, enabling you to reach and strike the block.
#3: To uncover this hidden treasure, engage in conversation with the chancellor within the castle and rendezvous with Mallow outside. After Mallow accompanies you, return to the castle corridor and leap onto the patrolling guard. This enables you to access the ledge adorned with a concealed block above it.
The Hidden Treasure in Bandit's Way.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Tadpole Pond region
In the Bandit's Way level, there is a single Hidden Treasure. To find it, continue advancing through the level until you come across a red flower beside a purple flower. Step onto the red flower and make Mario jump when he is facing diagonally to the right. This will enable you to hit the block that is floating in mid-air.
Hidden Treasure #5: Explore the item shop and leap onto the shelf located at the back, beyond the vendors. Take note that there is an additional obstacle to overcome in this area. To gain access, ascend the boxes outside and enter through the chimney.
Hidden Treasure #6: Make your way to the solitary house perched atop a hill and patiently await the arrival of the Toad non-player character in close proximity. Seize the moment to leap onto its head, enabling you to ascend to the precipice. Once inside the house, navigate to the second-floor bedroom and leap whilst positioned on the bed in order to uncover this prized chest.
Hidden Treasures of the Forest Maze
Hidden Treasure #7: Keep a keen eye out for all six Hidden Treasures concealed within the Forest Maze. To start your quest, the first treasure awaits at the left side of a clearing upon entering.
Hidden Treasure #8: Venture through the underground expanse until you resurface from within a tree trunk. Seek out the invisible block nestled in the corner of the left-hand side to uncover the eighth hidden treasure.
Shortly afterwards, you will reach a section where multiple Wiggler mobs can be seen moving in and out of tree trunks. In order to discover three Hidden Treasures, carefully navigate through the underground areas by descending into specific stumps.
This particular area, abundant with Wigglers and tree trunks, serves as the gateway to underground caverns. Hidden Treasure #9 can be found by descending into the tree trunk located on the right side (i.e. the one closest to the entrance pathway). The treasure block is conveniently positioned near the spring that allows you to return outside.
Hidden Treasure #10: Descend the tree trunk on the left side of the second row. The block is located slightly north of the spring in the underground section, but unfortunately, it does not offer any reward.
Hidden Treasure #11: Proceed to the farthest point of the Wiggler area where you will find a solitary tree trunk. Descend it and navigate through the tunnel until you reach the end, where a slumbering Wiggler awaits. Move past it and take a leap to reach and open this chest.
Hidden Treasure #12: To find the final Hidden Treasure in this area, you'll need to ride on the back of the Wiggler. It will catapult you to another area above ground. Here, you must navigate through the Forest Maze by following the passageways that Geno uses to leave. Once you reach the save point, head towards the clearing to the south instead of proceeding to the next screen. You'll discover the treasure hidden within a block there.
Hidden Treasures of the Pipe Vault
Hidden Treasures #13 and #14 can be found in the Pipe Vault area. These treasures are located in the same room. To discover them, continue progressing until you come across a section containing numerous gold coins, a Frog Coin, and a spring at the far end. Leap onto one end of this section to unveil a platform that will enable you to reach the higher ledge. Towards the very end of this area, you will also find an item block.
The initial hidden block is situated near the recently revealed yellow platform.
Between the first treasure and the one on the far end, there is a hidden block that cannot be seen.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Yo'ster Isle and Moleville regions
In this room in Pipe Vault, there are three item blocks, out of which two are Hidden Treasures.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Yo'ster Isle and Moleville regions
These Hidden Treasures can be found in the Yo'ster Isle and Moleville regions of Super Mario RPG. Specifically, we should focus on the Booster Pass, Booster Tower, and Marrymore areas.
Yo'ster Isle Hidden Treasure
Hidden Treasure #15: Continue deeper into the Pipe Vault to reach Yo'ster Isle. Once there, position yourself so that you're fairly close to the save point and jump up.
The Hidden Treasure at Yo'ster Isle can be found right next to the save point.
Hidden Treasure #16: As you venture into the Booster Pass region, keep an eye out for a plateau featuring a lone bush plant. Scale the plant and propel yourself upward for your prize.
Hidden Treasure #17: Head towards the adjacent rock formation, which features multiple segmented ledges (located shortly after passing the Lakitu). Reach the upper-left corner of this formation and proceed to jump upwards.
Booster Tower Hidden Treasures.
Hidden Treasure #18: Keep advancing until you arrive at a compact chamber where you must scale ledges amidst uninterrupted spawning of Snifits. The block is situated in the uppermost corner.
Hidden Treasure #19: Gradually, you will come across an opportunity to employ a Thwomp to access a segment featuring numerous ledges, along with Snifits and additional adversaries. In the lower-left corner, you can discover one of the concealed blocks.
Hidden Treasure #20: In the middle of this section lies a slender opening. Enter it and leap upwards to claim a valuable Frog Coin as your reward.
Hidden Treasure #21: Find the last pair of hidden treasures within the confines of a room that conveniently houses a save point. Start by navigating to the far end of the hallway. Position yourself in the corner where the lower ledge is located and spring up to seize your prize.
#22: To find the Marrymore Hidden Treasure, utilize the yellow ledges to ascend and land on the highest point of the current block (the one positioned above the save point). From there, leap once again to unveil this valuable secret.
The Marrymore inn holds a secret treasure that awaits discovery. Head to the second-floor bedroom and find the taller bookshelf to reveal this hidden container.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Star Hill and Land's End regions
While Marrymore only hides one treasure, there are more exciting adventures ahead. Join us as we search for Super Mario RPG Hidden Treasure blocks in the Star Hill and Land's End areas. Don't forget to explore the Sunken Ship, Belome's Temple, Monstro Town, and Bean Valley for even more hidden gems.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Star Hill and Land's End regions
Sunken Ship Hidden Treasure Exploration Guide #24: In order to acquire this treasure, you must successfully solve the puzzles within the Sunken Ship and defeat the formidable King Calamari boss, enabling you to access the subsequent area. During your exploration, a room will come into view featuring a uncanny duplicate of Mario. Despite its allure, refrain from engaging in any interactions with the clone, as it will initiate a battle. Instead, observe as the clone mirrors your every move. Your objective is to skillfully leap onto the clone's head, thereby accessing the concealed "J" block. Once activated, the Hidden Treasure will materialize. Subsequently, manipulate the clone's position to effectively retrieve the treasure.
To uncover the Sunken Ship's Hidden Treasure in the Mario clone, it is crucial to understand how it replicates your actions. Here's how to retrieve Hidden Treasure #25 in Land's End: Upon entering the initial screen, utilize the cannon to propel yourself towards a yellow platform. Patience is key here, as you must wait for the platform to ascend before leaping up to your destination.
Hidden Treasure #26: To uncover the hidden treasure, head to the second screen in Land's End. Use the cannon to launch yourself into a pit on the next hill. Defeat the kobold enemies and then jump up when you reach the edge of the pit. This action will reveal a yellow platform. Return to the cannon in order to access the platform mentioned earlier. From there, you can ascend to the top of the rock formation. The Hidden Treasure is located in the left corner.
Hidden Treasure #27: In the next area, you will come across a grassy landscape adorned with red and purple flowers. Hop between the second and third purple flower to activate the hidden block.
Hidden Treasure #28: Follow the path beyond the purple flowers until you come across a rock pillar featuring a hole. Position yourself alongside it and leap into the air as soon as you notice smoke emerging. This action will lead Mario to be transported into a secret underground zone. Keep progressing until you reach the farthest point, where a group of kobolds eagerly guard this valuable container.
Treasures concealed within Belome's Temple
Hidden Treasures #29 and 30 can be discovered together within the confines of Belome's Temple. Once you have progressed past the section where you must strike statues to unveil your destiny, continue onward. A chamber awaits, housing two chests. Ascend the ledges and leap onto the floating block, adjusting your rotation mid-jump to ensure a smooth landing. Descend the steps and position yourself in front of the recessed corner of the wall, executing a precise jump to reach greater heights.
Monstro Town Hidden Treasure
Hidden Treasure #31: Enter the last room in the lower section of Monstro Town, then jump up while standing in the left-hand corner (i.e. next to the bush with flowers).
In Monstro Town, the sole Hidden Treasure can be found in the final room of the lower area. Bean Valley is home to several Hidden Treasures, including Hidden Treasure #32. To locate it, enter Bean Valley and take the pipe on the right. Afterwards, make your way to the corner of the screen where two bees are present.
In Bean Valley, there lies a concealed treasure just beyond the pipe on the right. Moving forward, you'll come across an area with five pipes housing baby Piranha Plants. As a Shy Guy hovers around, randomly sprinkling them with water, your objective is to wait for it to water the Piranha Plants located at the bottom-right and right-hand sides. Once they have fully grown, engage in battle and defeat them in order to proceed down the pipes.
To access the underground areas, you will need to lure the Shy Guy into nurturing the Piranha Plants. By doing so, you gain the opportunity to conquer them in battle and ultimately obtain entry to the hidden treasure. Hidden Treasure #33 can be found by utilizing the bottom-right pipe and skillfully leaping slightly to the left of the block and the spring.
Hidden Treasure locations in the Nimbus Land and Bowser's Keep regions
The final remaining Hidden Treasure in Super Mario RPG can be found by utilizing the right-hand pipe and strategically leaping near the edge of the room situated to the right of the spring. It is important to note that there are several Hidden Treasures located within the Nimbus Land, while Bowser's Keep boasts only a solitary one.
Nimbus Land Hidden Treasures
Hidden Treasure #35: Enter the item shop in Nimbus Land and use the brown boxes behind the vendor.
Hidden Treasure #36 and #37: After successfully accessing the castle, proceed onwards until you arrive at the left wing where there are descending steps. Within this vicinity, you will encounter a bird adversary alongside a Jawful. The initial chest is positioned directly above the Jawful's location, necessitating its defeat in order to claim it.
The second chest resides in a narrow crevice within the dimly lit section of the room. Although it may appear to be the boundary of the screen, you should be able to navigate through and access it.
Hidden Treasure #38: Obtain Castle Key 1 from the villagers in the room beyond Jawful. Utilize the key to access the room located in the main corridor. Engage in battle with Birdo in order to ascend to the upper part of the wing. Once you have reached your destination, leap onto the preexisting item block.
Hidden Treasure #39: This particular Hidden Treasure is only visible subsequent to your triumph over Valentina and Dodo, consequently liberating the royal family. Return to the main corridor (the one containing three doors, one of which previously led to the Birdo boss encounter). Position yourself in the far-left corner and leap in order to reach this container.
Hidden Treasure #40: To find the final Hidden Treasure in the game, you will need to venture into Weapon World after successfully solving all the puzzles at Bowser's Keep. Proceed further into the area until you come across a small room with a save point. Here, you will find the hidden container located right next to the save point.
When you arrive at Weapon World, there is only one remaining Hidden Treasure. That's all for the Hidden Treasures in Super Mario RPG. Remember to speak with the treasure-bearer character in Monstro Town in case you want to double-check if you missed anything. Speaking of things you might overlook, make sure to also complete other activities, like solving the Melody Bay tadpole puzzles and finding the flag of the 3 Musty Fears.
