The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection introduced a "Volume 1" in its title, suggesting the possibility of a future "Volume 2." Recently, dataminers examining the collection's code discovered potential clues about what this second volume could entail. According to IGN, a Reddit user named "Timo653" shared images from the collection's launcher program, which hinted at the inclusion of long-awaited remasters such as Metal Gear Solid 4, 5, and Peace Walker, alongside the already existing titles MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3. IGN has since verified the authenticity of the code.
Of all the names mentioned, Metal Gear Solid 4 stands out as it remains the only console MGS entry that has not been released outside its initial launch. This adds weight to an earlier leak, which revealed placeholders for these three games on the official MGS Master Collection website. In our review of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 on our website, we deemed it "essential" for MGS veterans, noting that it not only serves as a valuable historical preservation but also a nostalgic journey through one of the most impactful series of all time.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
