Want to make fast money in Starfield? Bethesda's open world space RPG offers numerous legitimate methods to earn credits. Alternatively, there's a chance to stumble upon a seemingly enchanted mud puddle that contains a bounty of credits and valuable items.
As reported by Kotaku, players of Starfield have come across a mysterious puddle near Shepard's General Store in Akila City. By switching to a third-person view and crouching down, players can freely collect an abundance of items and credits that bear a striking resemblance to the merchandise available for purchase at Shepard's store.
It is probable that a similar mechanic used in Skyrim is happening here, where merchants' inventories are stored in separate chests to deter theft. Similar to Skyrim, these chests are intended to be hidden in inaccessible locations. However, something has caused a specific chest to be accessible and lootable from a particular position.
While most players are currently looting the chest belonging to Shepard, there has been another discovery from players on Reddit. Another chest resembling the previous one can be found outside Rowland Arms, another store in Akila City. It is possible that there are other merchant chests spread throughout the vast world of Starfield that can also be looted. However, it is worth noting that Bethesda might fix this loophole in the future, so acting quickly is advisable.
