As the official release of Diablo 4 draws near, dedicated players have already begun venturing into the higher difficulty tiers. Upon reaching World Tier 3: Nightmare, players can expect to encounter new and more powerful quality types when looting items. Sacred Legendaries, for instance, boast superior benefits compared to their World Tier 2 counterparts, while Unique items offer the most substantial benefits of any item type in the game.
When it comes to Unique drops, the Rogue class stands out for its versatility. Depending on a player's chosen specializations and playstyle, Unique items can range from game-changing to mediocre. The most coveted Unique items, however, will compel players to re-spec and rebuild their character to fully harness their benefits.
S-Tier
When it comes to melee Rogues in Diablo 4, Doombringer is a force to be reckoned with. This long-standing Unique has only become more formidable over time, boasting impressive AoE Shadow damage and a damage reduction effect that can keep enemies at bay. It's a game-changing choice for players who want to stay in the thick of combat and deal out damage without worrying about taking too much themselves.
For Rogue players who prefer to stay at range, Skyhunter is an excellent option. Its Penetrating Shot skill is one of the best in the game, and when paired with Skyhunter, it becomes even more devastating. The first direct damage hit is guaranteed to be a critical strike, and there's a chance of getting Energy refunded to the player as well. This bow is a true powerhouse in both PvE and PvP situations, making it a versatile choice for any Rogue build.
A-Tier
Fragment 5: Windforce in Diablo 4's Fields of Hatred is a top-tier option for players seeking a powerful and familiar weapon. Its impressive knockback and damage output make it particularly effective against aggressive opponents in PvP.
B-Tier
For those seeking a powerful Rain of Arrows build, Word of Hakan is the ideal choice. This weapon applies all Imbuements at once, allowing for easy destruction of mobs. However, while it excels in dungeons and PvE encounters, its subpar base stats limit its overall effectiveness.
Grasp of Shadows may have impressive base stats, yet its exclusive feature of generating shadow clones falls short of expectations. While it remains a feasible option for its designated slot, players may come across a Legendary Aspect in Diablo 4 that surpasses it in performance.
C-Tier
Although the Cowl of the Nameless may be a viable option for a PvE Rogue build, it falls short due to its lack of beneficial base stats. While its crowd control ability may offer some utility, players may be better off equipping more defensive gear.
The Eyes in the Dark is considered the least desirable Rogue Unique due to its highly specific ability that offers little value in PvP or boss battles, rendering it ineffective in the most challenging scenarios. Opting for the universally available Temerity is a more practical choice, leaving little incentive to choose Eyes in the Dark. It's important to note that Diablo 4 is now accessible on various platforms such as PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
