Trishelle Cannatella, the winner of season 2 of The Traitors, has faced challenges since her victory.

The 44-year-old reality TV star revealed that she has not only faced criticism for her gameplay, but has also received numerous threats on social media. Trishelle shared in an interview with Traitors costar Dan Gheesling on his podcast that she is taking this feedback as an opportunity for self-improvement.

Instead of ignoring the negativity, Trishelle is using the backlash to identify areas where she can grow and become a better player.

She mentioned on Friday, March 15, via X, that after reading some comments, she realized there is work she needs to do that she was not aware of before.

In a reposted quote from a video on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she shared with Andy, 55, her intention to take unconscious bias classes to learn and grow from the experience.

Unconscious bias training aims to raise awareness about the quick judgments people tend to make about others, which are often influenced by factors like race, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, or other inherent characteristics.

Trishelle faced criticism on The Traitors for targeting Peppermint, the show’s lone trans contestant, for the first banishment.

Peppermint, who is 44 years old, reflected on her elimination during the reunion show of the season. She expressed, “I understand that someone has to be the first to go on a show like this. However, without concrete evidence, people tend to rely on their preconceived biases, which often leads to targeting those who are seen as different from the rest of the group. Unfortunately, individuals like me do not usually do well in such situations.”

Trishelle has highlighted her past support for the LGBTQIA+ community as proof that she did not intend any harm in that particular moment. She acknowledges that Peppermint was utilizing the show's platform to share her personal story.

Trishelle expressed her admiration for a fellow contestant's plan to educate others about the transgender community during an interview with The Wrap on March 8. She regretted her role in voting the contestant out but acknowledged that she was focused on the competition and not on important platforms at the time.

Trishelle and CT, both 43 years old, continued to prioritize their competitive mindset throughout the game. This led to a controversial decision to banish Mercedes "MJ" Javid instead of sharing the prize money with her at the end of the game.

CT pointed out that there is a noticeable contrast between the way gamers and Bravo contestants approach a game of strategy. He mentioned that gamers tend to have a "tougher skin" in comparison. Trishelle, on the other hand, expressed understanding towards MJ, 51, for feeling upset. However, she believes that the personal attacks directed at him were unwarranted.
