Grammy award-winning artist Taylor Swift remains a fortunate talisman for the Kansas City Chiefs, as they emerged triumphant with a 19-8 victory over the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night.
In her third attendance this season, Swift has yet to witness the Chiefs experience defeat. Viewers of the Prime Video broadcast caught a glimpse of the singer seated in the family suite, alongside the mother of two-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce.
Listed as questionable for the game due to an ankle injury in Week 5, tight end Kelce played a key role in leading the Chiefs' effort. Despite his age of 34, he made an impressive nine receptions for 124 yards, with 100 yards achieved in just the first half. In fact, this made him the top tight end in the NFL this season in terms of receiving yards. Throughout the game, Kelce consistently found ways to get open, particularly in the middle of the field, cleverly taking advantage of the Broncos' zone coverage.
Neither Kelce nor Swift have publicly addressed their relationship, but there has been considerable speculation about their dating status. This speculation stems from the fact that shortly after Kelce admitted to fumbling while trying to give his phone number to the pop star, Swift has appeared to show support for him during his performances.

According to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce is someone who can be given freedom on the field because of his thorough understanding of the team's offense, as reported by the NFL.
Mahomes mentioned that Kelce is highly effective in working the middle of the field in zone defense. Although it may limit some of our deep plays, having a player like Kelce who excels in that area greatly benefits the team as a whole.
In the primetime slot, Mahomes, the current league MVP, showcased his skills with an outstanding performance. He completed 30 out of 40 pass attempts, accumulating a remarkable 306 yards. During the game, he delivered a touchdown pass to Kadarius Toney, but also faced one interception.

Despite the statistics, the Chiefs' victory was not as impressive as expected. Their typically dominant offense struggled in the red zone, notably when Mahomes was intercepted by Broncos safety Justin Simmons at the goal line, resulting in them settling for field goals four times. However, Kicker Harrison Butker delivered a flawless performance, successfully making all four field goal attempts, including a remarkable 60-yard kick. Mahomes commended the defense, while head coach Andy Reid expressed his disappointment with the team's offensive shortcomings.
Reid praised the remarkable performance of our defense tonight, highlighting its consistent excellence. However, he emphasized the need for improved offensive execution in the red zone, despite gaining substantial yardage. Unfortunately, the Broncos had another disappointing evening, displaying ineffectiveness on offense and defense, resulting in a 1-5 record.
With a defense that consistently ranked last in points allowed per game since Week 6, their performances have remained porous throughout the entire season. On the offensive side, quarterback Russell Wilson struggled greatly, resulting in a lackluster performance. The Denver Broncos managed only 197 total yards in comparison to the Kansas City Chiefs' 389 yards, while Wilson completed just 13 out of 22 passes for 95 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, according to the NFL.
During the fourth quarter, a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton, which was initially ruled as incomplete but then overturned, provided a glimmer of hope for the Broncos. A successful two-point conversion followed, bringing the score to 16-8 and placing the Broncos back in contention. Unfortunately, any possibility of a comeback was extinguished later in the quarter when Butker secured his fourth field goal.
Things are going from bad to worse for Denver.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton acknowledged the need for improvement after another challenging game where Wilson was sacked four times. Despite looking for positives, Payton recognized the areas in which his team had to get better.
"I'm not disheartened," he stated post-game. "We faced difficulties in our offensive passing game. Our performance on third downs was subpar.
"Taking on a formidable team like this makes winning the game challenging, yet we managed to remain competitive until the fourth quarter. At times, the outcome of a game is unpredictable."
The Broncos have 10 days to prepare for their next test - a home matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday next week.
