Two individuals lost their lives and five others were injured in a shooting incident in Washington, DC, on Sunday morning, as per the police report.
The shooting took place at approximately 3 a.m. near the Kennedy Recreation Center, at the intersection of 7th and P St., Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
All the victims, who were reported as adults, have been transported to nearby hospitals, according to Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll during a press conference. Unfortunately, there is no update on their current conditions.
The details surrounding the shooter and the events leading up to the incident remain unknown. The shooting occurred approximately twelve blocks northeast of the White House. At this time, the police have not made any arrests or identified any suspects related to the case.
