A coroner in Gloucestershire has confirmed that Thomas Kingston, a member of the royal family, passed away due to a severe head injury. Katy Skerrett, the senior coroner, stated during the inquest on Friday, March 1, that Kingston died from a gunshot wound to the head, as reported by The Telegraph.
On Sunday, February 25, Kingston had lunch with his parents at their estate before his passing. Later that day, when his parents went out to walk their dogs, Kingston remained behind at home. Upon their return, they discovered that Kingston was no longer in the house. A subsequent inquest by Skerrett revealed that Kingston was found in a locked outbuilding with a severe head injury.
Although further information about Kingston's death has not been disclosed, Skerrett mentioned that a gun was found at the scene.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Thomas Kingston, who was married to Lady Gabriella Kingston, passed away on Sunday at the age of 45.
In a statement released on Tuesday, February 27, Gabriella, 42, and her family expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of Thomas. They described him as a remarkable man who brought joy to everyone around him. The family is still reeling from his sudden death and kindly requests privacy as they grieve.
Gabriella comes from a royal family. Her parents are Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who were cousins of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Gabriella is also a second cousin of King Charles III.
A statement on behalf of King Charles III and Queen Camilla expressed their condolences for the death of Thomas. They join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and others in mourning the loss of a beloved family member. Their Majesties send their deepest thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and the entire Kingston family.
Thomas used to date Pippa Middleton, Princess Kate Middleton's younger sister, before he started a relationship with Gabriella. He proposed to Gabriella in August 2018 on the Isle of Sark, situated in the English Channel near Normandy, France. The couple tied the knot in May 2019 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
St George’s Chapel was not only the venue for Thomas and Gabriella's wedding but also where Gabriella's cousins, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie, got married in 2018.
