Simply put, the storyline revolves around a young man named Kurusu Kimihito who finds his already chaotic life disrupted when a new monster girl unexpectedly seeks his hand in marriage. While this set-up aligns with numerous harem anime, interestingly, Monster Musume stands out as the first of its kind in the anime world.

Although doujin and lesser-known manga had attempted the premise of anthropomorphic monster/anime girls involved in harems with a human male, none reached the level of success achieved by Monster Musume. One might argue that it is the popularity of this series that paved the way for other similar shows, such as Monster Girl Doctor and Interview with Monster Girls, to find their own success. This, in itself, serves as a testament to why Monster Musume deserves to be renewed for another season. However, as the years pass, the likelihood of this happening seems to diminish.
