Tom Sandoval expressed that his former Vanderpump Rules costar Raquel Leviss meant more to him than just being attractive during their relationship.

"I really fought for Rachel," Sandoval, 40, shared in the December 7 episode of the "Two T's in a Pod" podcast, using Leviss' birth name. "I made big changes, like quitting drinking and smoking, when she went to a facility."

In March, it was confirmed that Ariana Madix and Sandoval had split after being together for nine years due to news of Sandoval cheating with costar Leviss. The affair continued to make headlines, and Leviss entered a mental health facility in April. Sandoval mentioned on Thursday that he had tried to help her through it, saying, "I’m like, ‘She can’t drink, she can’t smoke. I’m gonna quit.'" He added on the podcast, "I haven’t gone this long without drinking since I was 16. It’s been eight months. I stopped for her. I was there in any way that she needed me."

Sandoval admitted that he still misses Leviss after their romance ended earlier this year. "We were best friends. It's really tough to deal with," he said. "I was completely in love with her."

Raquel Leviss, Tom Sandoval, and Ariana Madix were captured in a photo by Nicole Weingart for Bravo. The co-founder of Tom Tom made a remark, stating, "She's not just some hot girl. I was a model for 15 years, it's deeper than that. It's more than that."

Sandoval expressed a desire to have sought mental health support like Leviss had, but he mentioned that preexisting work commitments prevented him from doing so.

Reflecting on the situation, Sandoval admitted uncertainty regarding Leviss' feelings for him, questioning whether her intentions were genuine or fame-driven. He confessed to feeling hurt by her perceived dismissal of him after the scandal.

In September, it was reported that Leviss and Sandoval had not communicated for months. According to a source, there had been no contact between them since June. The source claimed that Leviss made the decision to completely cut Sandoval out of her life while she was in treatment, despite his attempts to reach out to her. Sandoval admitted that his hookup with Leviss was not just for the thrill of it, and attributed it to getting caught up in emotions and doing foolish things in the name of love.

Leviss decided not to come back to Pump Rules following the scandal in season 10 of the Bravo series. Instead, she plans to share her perspective on her upcoming "Rachel Goes Rogue" podcast, scheduled to debut on January 8, 2024.

Madix, on the other hand, has found a new relationship with boyfriend Daniel Wai. She announced on December 6 that she landed the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago after appearing on season 32 of Dancing With the Stars.
