Even top-tier, award-winning actors like Tom Hanks sometimes need their kids to explain the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar to them. In Tom's case, he reached out to his son Chet, who is also known as the rapper Chet Haze, to get a summary of the widely talked-about and personal rap battle.
Chet, 33, showed that he was the perfect person to talk to in a series of texts shared on his Instagram Stories on Monday, May 20. He started off by discussing how Drake, J Cole, and Kendrick have been called the 'Big 3' in Rap. Kendrick then released a song saying, 'F–k the Big 3, it's just big ME,' which started the conflict.
For those following along at home, that line was featured on Lamar’s verse on “Like That,” a collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin.

Chet then launched into the diss tracks released individually by Lamar, 36, and Drake, 37, which started with Drake’s “Push Ups.”
Chet texted his dad about a conversation he had witnessed. He mentioned how Drake commented on someone having small feet because of their height, around 5 foot 5. Kendrick then insulted the person, calling them a deadbeat dad and mocking their Canadian accent.
Continuing the story, Chet shared how Drake retaliated by accusing Kendrick of domestic violence. However, Kendrick quickly responded with a diss track that overshadowed Drake's insult. In the track, Kendrick systematically tore apart Drake's character, accusing him of inappropriate behavior with young girls and hiding a secret child from the public, which was later proven false.
Drake mentioned in "The Heart Part 6" that his team spent a week plotting before revealing information about the alleged secret child Lamar mentioned in "Meet the Grahams."
As Chet wrapped up his explanation, he likened Lamar's upcoming decision to a memory he shared with his well-known father.
Chet was amazed when Kendrick dropped another hit from the West Coast, where he called out Drake as a pedophile. The song was so powerful that it reminded Chet of the time they went to a high school basketball game in Oakland, and everyone went wild. It had a vibe that made you want to Crip walk, hold Oscars like Marshawn Lynch, and shout "Town Bidness" to seal Kendrick's victory and represent the West Coast.

After his son’s exhaustive breakdown, Tom, 67, had a bit of a quizzical — and perhaps adorably predictable — response.
“Holy cow!” Tom wrote. “These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning??”
Chet responded, “Did you not just read what I just said? .”
