TLC’s Chilli Becomes a Grandmother at 53 as Son Tron Austin Celebrates Arrival of Baby Girl

TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas is now a grandma! Her son, Tron Austin, shared the exciting news of the arrival of his first child with wife Jeong Ah Wang.

The couple made the announcement on March 2, 2024, at 1:59 pm. Their beautiful daughter, LUA婁娥, was born weighing 6.173 lbs/2.8kg. They expressed their joy in a joint Instagram post, saying, “We are officially parents!!”

The new parents made an announcement by sharing a selfie of their new family of three. They also included a picture of their little one's feet. Additionally, they gave a glimpse into their daughter's birth story, mentioning that baby Lua arrived four days before her due date.

"She was originally scheduled for March 6th, a Wednesday, but she had other plans!" Austin, 26, shared. "This morning, my wife's water broke at 7am, so we quickly packed our bags and made the hour and thirty-minute drive to the hospital. By 1pm, she was in an emergency C-section. Our nerves were on edge and anxiety was high, but despite it all, she pushed through and delivered a healthy, beautiful baby girl!"

The new dad expressed his immense pride in his wife's bravery and courage as she navigated the unexpected early arrival of their baby.

The pair shared on Instagram their journey which included 2 HSG procedures, 1 hysteroscopy, removal of both tubes and scar tissue from hernia & appendicitis surgeries, 1 egg retrieval, and 1 miscarriage. They stayed strong throughout the challenges of #IVF for a year and a half, feeling tested and blessed. They are excited to become parents and eagerly await the arrival of their little one.

Chilli, 53, has not yet made a public statement about becoming a grandmother, but she has previously shown the strong bond she shares with her son, whom she co-parents with her ex, Dallas Austin.

Chilli celebrated Austin's birthday in June 2023 by posting a throwback photo of him as a baby. She wrote, "Happy birthday, my young King! I love you so much!!! I feel incredibly blessed to be your mom."

Chilli, now a grandma, has talked about the possibility of having another child with her boyfriend, Matthew Lawrence. However, Lawrence has mentioned that he doesn't want to pressure her into anything.
