Tintin Reporter - Unveiling the Secrets and Adventure in Cigars of the Pharaoh Dev
Discover the untamed world of Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharoah as Microids product manager, Charles Leveugle, provides thrilling insights in this captivating article
Publisher Microids is known for its expertise in adapting childhood classics into video games. Their latest project, Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharaoh, is based on a beloved comic from the 1930s. To ensure authenticity, Microids collaborated closely with Tintinimaginatio, a company dedicated to promoting the works of Hergé, the creator of The Adventures of Tintin. In this upcoming puzzle adventure game, players will join the intrepid young reporter Tintin and his loyal dog Snowy on thrilling missions around the globe. These timeless stories have captivated and inspired young readers for almost a century.
The team behind Cigars of the Pharaoh possesses a deep understanding of the source material, thanks to their extensive historical knowledge and experience. They had the privilege of accessing Hergé's notes on Tintin and collaborating with leading experts in the franchise. This allowed them to offer well-informed opinions and expert analysis on the most significant aspects of Hergé's works. For example, they delved into discussions on topics like the character with the most remarkable facial hair (possibly Captain Haddock) and pondered whether any other companion could match Snowy (although Snowy is truly irreplaceable). However, at the end of the day, it is undeniable that Tintin and Snowy form such a harmonious and inseparable duo that it would be a great loss to replace Snowy with another animal. Nevertheless, if such an exercise were to be undertaken, the team at Microids, with their prior experience, might consider exploring other animal characters like Garfield or an army of Smurfs. Regardless, it must be acknowledged that Tintin and Snowy's bond is unbreakable, and no alternative companion could replace Snowy.
Leveugle emphasized the significance of Snowy's role in Cigars of the Pharaoh, extending beyond being the ideal companion for a reporter. Although he refrained from divulging all of Snowy's capabilities, he did mention that Snowy's expertise will encompass unlocking situations, locating items, and unraveling enigmas for players. Ultimately, he stated, "Tintin would be nothing without Snowy."
Riddles and puzzles are an essential part of Tintin's adventures as a young journalist who travels the world. However, with the changes in technology and the modern era, it is possible that Tintin would now find his puzzle-solving fix in video games. Looking back, it is clear which game Leveugle believes Tintin would be eager to play.
"If Tintin had access to the Cigars video game, I believe his favorite puzzle game would be the ones found in the Kih-Oskh tomb. These puzzles are encountered first in the game and are truly captivating, allowing players to experience the role of a 'real' archaeologist. If I were Tintin, I would definitely enjoy tackling these mysterious Egyptian puzzles!"
In "Cigars," Tintin faces various challenging puzzles, one of which is of particular interest to Leveugle. This puzzle takes place in Pharaoh Kih-Oskh's tomb and involves the delicate task of balancing souls, following the pattern of Anubis. Leveugle considers it a beautiful puzzle. Furthermore, the idea of Tintin engaging in his own game mirrors a memorable moment from "Cigars of the Pharaoh." In this instance, the sheikh acknowledges his knowledge of Tintin's adventures due to his previous encounters with the comic series. Leveugle mentions that this scene will be lovingly recreated in the game adaptation of "Cigars of the Pharaoh."
"Hergé's unexpected yet delightful fourth-wall break was truly a remarkable feat! Naturally, we wanted to pay homage to this iconic moment from the "Cigars" comic... and we have done just that! However, I cannot disclose what it will look like as it would spoil the surprise. I can only assure you that this particular sequence will bring a sense of tranquility and joy to Tintin, and subsequently, to the player."
Will the Shiekh be playing Cigar of the Pharaohs? If that's the case, perhaps Tintin can ultimately obtain it.
Tintin Reporter - The highly anticipated game, Cigars of the Pharaoh, will be available on November 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
