TimTheTatman Exposes Major Flaw in Overwatch Series

TimTheTatman shares his thoughts on what caused the downfall of the Overwatch series, following the announcement of the canceled PvE campaign for Overwatch 2

TimTheTatman recently shared his thoughts on the state of Overwatch 2, expressing his belief that the series has taken a wrong turn. Since its early access release in October 2022, the game has faced numerous controversies, including the cancellation of promised PvE elements. Fans were left disappointed when the much-anticipated PvE campaign mode was scrapped on May 16, despite reassurances from executive producer Jared Neuss that other PvE content was still in the works. The cancellation of the campaign mode, which was first announced at Blizzcon 2019, has caused many fans to lose faith in the franchise.

TimTheTatman recently shared his disappointment with the cancellation of certain PvE features in Overwatch 2 in a YouTube video. He also criticized Blizzard for not providing regular updates for the original Overwatch after announcing the sequel, suggesting that this lack of content updates "ruined" the series. Interestingly, TimTheTatman proposed that instead of releasing a sequel, the developer should have focused on updating the first game to prevent content droughts. He also argued that the canceled PvE mode would not have been as big of an issue if it was only an add-on for the original game, and that the promised PvE for Overwatch 2 was a major factor justifying the sequel's creation, making its cancellation a massive disappointment for fans.

TimTheTatman expressed his love for the Overwatch series and his hope for improvements in the future. Despite his current focus on games like Call of Duty: Warzone 2, he revealed that Overwatch was once one of his most-played games when he first started creating content. However, he acknowledged that Overwatch 2 is currently "struggling" and expressed uncertainty about its return. While Blizzard has promised new content for the game, it remains to be seen if it will be enough to retain fans.

Overwatch 2 is out now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
