At the premiere of Wonka in Tokyo on Monday, November 20, Timothée Chalamet appeared ready for work at the magical chocolate factory. The 27-year-old actor donned a glossy light purple blazer by Prada, which he paired with coordinating lilac pants - a fitting nod to his role as Willy Wonka.
Chalamet accessorized with shiny white boots and a silver chain necklace to complete his ensemble. His signature loose brunette curls were stylishly tossed to one side.
Chalamet’s Monday outfit, while noteworthy, comes as no surprise. The Lady Bird star is recognized for pushing fashion boundaries through his use of color, textures, and unconventional silhouettes. His appearance at the 2022 Venice Film Festival made headlines as he opted for a sparkly red cowl neck halter top paired with matching crimson pants and pointed-toe boots.
Chalamet’s Monday style moment was presumably a nod to Wonka’s iconic purple coat.

The film follows Wonka, the central character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as he transforms into an inventor, magician, and cherished chocolate maker. Alongside Chalamet, the cast includes Olivia Colman, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Key, and others.
At the Tokyo premiere of the film, Chalamet shared his thoughts on working with director Paul King and the experience of fulfilling his dreams by portraying Willy Wonka, as well as reflecting on the 2005 film adaptation that featured Johnny Depp in the iconic role.

"This is what drew me to it," he said to the publication in May. "Amidst the current intense political rhetoric and constant bad news, I hope this will be a sweet escape. This version of Willy is filled with joy, hope, and the ambition to become the greatest chocolatier."
The movie Wonka will premiere in theaters on Friday, December 15th.
