Everton's tale of woe appears to be a never-ending saga.
Board upheaval, financial strife, a former manager's legal challenge and so it goes on.
Supporter groups have long been advocating for the removal of the current board, but there may finally be some hope on the horizon. The latest club announcement reveals the implementation of an interim board of directors, along with news from New York that future investors MSP Sports Capital have filed a company investment totaling £130m.
While 75 percent of the request has been granted with the departures of CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, financial director Grant Ingles, and non-executive board member Graeme Sharp, the chairman Bill Kenwright has drawn the most attention. Friday's announcement that he will remain in position during a transitional period has raised concerns among many supporters, as they fear that nothing has changed or will change in the future.

Bill Kenwright will remain on the Everton board after owner Farhad Moshiri said the long-standing chairman has a vital role to play in the "important period of transition" at the club
This interim board, assembled by owner Farhad Moshiri, should reassure fans that it is a temporary solution until the deal with MSP is finalized. It is clear that Moshiri is seeking the most advantageous investment deal, not only to fund the new stadium's completion but also to enhance the club's financial stability. This process is estimated to take approximately six to seven weeks.
Work is well underway and that work will now continue with the stability needed provided by the temporary board arrangement.

The fans must come to understand that during this time, the transfer business takes precedence, and both director of football Kevin Thelwell and manager Sean Dyche will continue to work on both outgoing and incoming transfers. Bill Kenwright, as the only person at the club with the necessary experience at board level, will also be involved in this process.
Under the guidance of the new board, which includes Moshiri himself, the club will focus on efficiency and cost control to prepare for the arrival of new investors. This will ensure that the club is in a strong and healthy position for the future.
John Spellman, a highly experienced professional in the financial and energy sectors, has been appointed as a non-executive director. With his fresh perspective and keen attention to detail, he is poised to bring a new perspective to the club.
MSP will undoubtedly revolutionize the way Everton operates, bringing with them a wealth of commercial knowledge and expertise. They will be instrumental in securing naming rights for the stadium, implementing international-focused commercial strategies, and filling the void of sports management expertise that has been lacking in the club for far too long.
The immediate priority for Everton, however, is to build a team capable of achieving a higher position in the league than their last two seasons, during which they narrowly avoided relegation. There is an urgent need for improvement, and Dyche must have a squad that he can shape into, at the very least, a hardworking and efficient group of players who can demonstrate progress to the disheartened fan base.

The manager will require the assistance of Kenwright and Thelwell to achieve this goal, at least in the short term. The owner is fully aware of this and it has greatly influenced his decision to request the chairman to remain in charge during this transitional phase.

Despite numerous setbacks and letdowns, as well as nerve-wracking brushes with relegation, convincing a fan base that progress is being made and desired changes are on the horizon, including increased investment and the potential for success, is no easy task.
They and the club have endured a prolonged period of deprivation from it.
Although there are no certainties, it is widely acknowledged that the past must be left behind to grant the club an opportunity for a fresh start and a more promising future.
